Participants Wanted for ADHD study at the University of South Australia
I am a research assistant from the University of South Australia. We are conducting a study to investigate some of the long-term effects on the brain of stimulant medication such as dexamphetamine and Ritalin® which are prescribed for ADHD. Participants must be between 6 and 18 years of age.
•Participants with and without a diagnosis of ADHD are invited to participate.
•Participants who have been diagnosed with ADHD but are not taking stimulant medication are also invited to participate.
The testing session (~1.5 hours) will take place at the University of South Australia’s City East Campus (North Terrace, Adelaide). The participant or his/her parent will be asked to complete a questionnaire to document their diagnosis and treatment history. The participant will then be asked to sit in a comfortable chair and the structure of his/her brain will be investigated using non-invasive ultrasound. Participants will also be asked to complete tests of whole-body and hand movement.
All participants will be compensated for their time ($20 per hour or a minimum of $50 per visit).
