But does it not say treat others how you want to be treated?!?

Why ban a girl because of her parents?!? Would you have liked to have been in that spot!!?!

I am sure he knows lots more than I do - however, having done some exploring of the Christian faith and reading, I really do feel the 'Church' has taken a lot away from the teachings of God and Jesus.

Mostly many centuries ago, but the remnants of that lingers on. It makes people act out of fear rather than love.

My children attend a catholic school and have a child in their class, with same sex Fathers. The Parish Priest had said at countless meetings about this, that God loves ALL children, and why should the children miss out on education of the Catholic Faith. The position of these Fathers is that they'd like their daughter to be brought up in the church as a Catholic, and given the chance to receive the sacraments. She has been baptised. The Fathers do not attend the church, but it's my understanding that this little girl attends the children's ministry service, and is currently attending sacrament classes in preparation for next year.
