I was married for four years (together for 10) to a guy who so utterly and completely changed that after much heart ache and soul searching, I had to leave. I met a fantastically wonderful guy while continuing to study and we have been together ever since, even though that was completely unplanned and I thought I had probably lost my chance for love and happiness with a child of my own. As my ex was so unstable, I held off applying for a divorce until he was in the care of his mother and the rest of his family. So, I'm not actually divorced, and this baby, although much wanted, is certainly a surprise. We will probably get married at some stage, but must wait for my divorce to become final, and for this baby to be born.

So, I think I come under the heading of "it's complicated".

Technically married, but been separated for over a year - must complete that divorce application but it's so complicated and tiring! Wish the ex would just serve me

But have had a boyfriend for about 7-8 months now (oh bugger that's scary)

Engaged. Together 7 years and no rush to get married. We'd like to wait until we're finished having children so they can all be there

why the differentiation for same sex? if that option is there it should be multi choice so that people like forkie (and there are others) can choose long-term as well. there should also be an option for opposite sex to make it fair. jmo.
