Default Lower backache radiating into thighs

    Hello
38w4d today and since yesterday I've been experiencing aching lower back that radiates into tops of my thighs. It's not what I would say is painful but the ache of it causes me to stop, and hold the bench or wall as it makes me instantly tired. These r usually followed instantly with a super tight tummy.

I've had Braxton hicks throughout this pregnancy and I still get them but I'm wondering if the backache that spreads is just a slight variation of a contraction?

I just had 6 in the shower and I dont feel intensity in worsening but the frequency perhaps, they come in clusters then I'll have nothing.

Also diarrhea for past week on and off.

Anyone experience this kind of backache?

    Sounds like pre labour/early labour

I had the back and thigh pain with #2 - its awful. but its bub dropping down into the pelvis and hitting a nerve. can be a sign of labour starting soon (esp if its a first bub!) but with subsequent bubs it can happen weeks before birth.

BUT, with the tummy tightening, it sounds like early labour to me

Sounds like prelabour... unfortunately doesn't give you a timeline to the main event though! I would think that things are starting to getinto motion.

Still no news, am 39w 2d today. Lots more backache, had diarrhea increasing of late, 5 times today (sorry!) and intense pressure/heaviness in pelvis. Increased d'charge but not bloody or massive like plug. Wish I had a crystal ball.

Ohhh sounds very positive! Sounds incredibly similar to what happened to me in early labour, possibly not too long to wait now And know that your body is getting itself ready for birthing this baby, none of this prodromal labour is wasted, often it can mean quite a speeedy labour when things really ramp up...

    All the best
