We are planning our first holiday with our kids 4.5 and 2.5 yrs. We are going to the Gold Coast to do the theme parks. We were planning on getting an apartment near the beach. Apartment because it has a kitchen and more space. But Seaworld Resort has half price rooms at the moment so we could get a family room at a reasonable price. The family room is basically 2 internconnecting rooms with a kitchenette.
So just wondering for those been on holidays before do you think apartment would work better or the extras of Seaworld Resort would out way having full kitchen and more space?

We do QL every second year (this year was our first time with 3 kids) and there is NO way I would have coped without space and a kitchen. There are some awesome specials all the time. I'd hang out for one of those and maybe pay a little bit extra. Try places like turtle beach or breakfree diamond beach, they are awesome places to stay with Kids.
We save so much money by doing all our own meals and packing lunches etc..very hard to do with a kitchenette.

with small kids an apartment would work better in my opinion. more room, quoet for sleeping kids, kitchen to make meals and laundry to wash clothes

we have recently stayed at seaworld for a work conference. while the resort is quite nice, the rooms are not that big and the cost of meals at the resort certainly not cheap. It is a bit of a hike to get down to alternative restuarants, with 2 little kids will probably need to drive. personally i would stay in an apartment. broadbeach is really nice, check out lastminute.com and booking.com for some good deals. hope you have a great holiday
