I like Clara. I agree with PP who said it reminds them of Nutcracker, comes from growing up doing ballet I guess.

I knew a girl at high school who pronounced it Claire-ah, but from what I can gather that's a more American pronunciation... maybe??

I'm having a girl in march and I'm thinking of naming her Lylah Rose. I also like Kylah, Shiloh, Tyler.

You should be fairly safe with the pronunciation of Clara, provided you don't live in the deep south of the US.
I like the name, it's simple, pretty and most importantly, it's classy!

we thought we had a couple of girls name picked but have gone off them a little, and also really like the name Clara, so its also a front runner for us.

having trouble with middle name to go with it (surname is two syllables), was thinking

    Clara Elisabeth
    Clara Juliet
    Clara Elise
    Clara Genevieve
    Clara May
    Clara Emily/Amelie/Emmeline

any help would be appreciated as we are running so short of time
    thank you!!

I like Clara very much. I doubt it would ever be pronounced claire-ah, unless like someone else said they have a strong accent Clara Grace sounds soft and gentle, good choice
