Today we went to the Christmas Party and every kid got a card. Even one girl, who doesn't do Christmas or Birthday (I'm assuming for religious reasons) handed out cards her mother had made - they were so cute with little poems. It was more of a "thanks for spending the year with me and fairwell" card than a Christmas card. We made her a special "thanks for being my friend," card too... so she didn't miss out on Christmas cards.

I am an idiot and left one little boy's card at home. I didn't realise until DD finished and she asks, "Is there one for L? I don't think I gave him one!" CRAP!

I went ot his father and asked for their address so we could post one. His Dad said not to worry, but I said I thought it was unfair he'd watched DD give cards to all the other kids, and not him... so now I have his address and we'll post him one to make up for it!

Our DS is in grade 1 and a note was sent home with all the childrens names in the class and it clearly stated that it was an act of good will and xmas spirit that if your child is going to do xmas cards that each member of the class is given one. I think this is a good thing! DS has only been at his school for 4 months but so far he has come home with lots of cards and at 7 years old he feels very loved and special to be thought of by all of the children. We are doing cards together this weekend and he has chosen some little candy canes he wants to stick on each envelope.
