I guess im just sick of going to these 'funky' cafes that are shyte, cost a fortune, staff are rude, the decor is 'funky retro' which is just a buzz word for cheap, unmatched furtiture that smells like op shops.

I just want well cooked food - eggs cooked as requested and all the food is hot. I hate paying like $10 for eggs adn then $2.50-$3.0 for every single side. I hate home made baked beans and home made hash browns unless the are actually cooked nicely.
Haha that is pretty much Melbourne I'm afraid! At least in term of the price. The two in the CBD I mentioned are great. There are numerous places in Collingwood, Fitzroy, Brunswick St.

But from the sounds of it you're not going to like the decor or the service or the price at most of those places

I honestly think you've had bad luck as generally most places are pretty good. I always have eggs Benedict! Home made baked beans, hash browns, etc are pretty standard as most of inner Melbs would revolt if you served them Heinz. Although I love them!!

Oh, the cafe near the food court at Victoria Gardens in Richmond do brilliant breakfast (and lunch). We budget for breaky / lunch when we go to Ikea.

There is this cafe called "Green" I think, in Carlton. It was just near Coles... I don't live in Melbourne so I can't even remember the street. But I walked up Royal Parade to get there. Beautiful breakfast and an awesome little place. Good eggs!

Cumulus is great (I think) - bug suspect you won't cause it's ├╝ber-cool and you do pay for add ons etc. he Spanish eggs are good though. Maybe try Hairy Canary cbd
