    Default Christmas Lunch when pregnant

Im sorry if there is a thread already for this (I couldnt find one) BUT...

Are cold prawns (cooked at home & chilled) and baked ham ok? Im already thinking about my christmas lunch .

My mum is going to do a baked ham for christmas day and I'm wondering am I allowed to eat it cold if its been cooked the night before? Same thing with the turkey?

For boxing day I was going to buy green prawns and cook them myself and chill them before eating them straight away. Is this ok or still not allowed due to Listeria risk?

We normally have cold salads as well which are either made in the morning or the night before.

Please someone tell me im not going to starve!

    If you want to, yes.

If youve cooked it yourself, 9/10 youll be fine. Just make sure its been kept super cold.

I would say yes to prawns if cooked properly and eaten straight away. Also only locally caught prawns not imported just to make sure there is no yukky stuff from water in them.

I would say yes to fresh baked ham too. Yummmmm. If its baked and stored properly whilst refrigerated for the next day or so I would eat that as well.

    Christmas pudding of course!

I thought prawns only can be eaten if it's hot I don't think you can have it cold and I also don't think cold ham either. Check out this website by nsw govt re pregnancy food:

Hadnt thought about local vs imported...good point thanks Melting Mayo.

I was pregnant over chrissy with DD but for the life of me cant remember what I ate. I vaguely remember nuking the ham until it was pretty unedible!

Im really looking forward to ham and prawns though... its all I have thought about for the last 2 days.

I ate prawns from a buffet when I was preg and didn't even think of it til this, whoops! (what? It was a super classy buffet, Stamford Plaza!) Baked ham should be fine too I think

Last chrismas I had chicken and salmon, puked it all up and kept eating. Best Christmas ever. Non stop eating.

And YES to pudding!! Nom nom nom!!
