Zannah I send you a big hug. I was given the same choice by my doctor: miscarry naturally or have a curette. I can't really give you advice one way or another as its such a personal experience. I opted to wait and miscarry naturally but it took a long time - a few weeks - and eventually I really wanted closure. After what was a natural miscarriage I still didn't feel ok. I had cysts and endometriosis so I had a curette anyway. This was a pretty painful procedure but apparently it gives you a higher chance of a pregnancy. It also gave me the closure I needed. I remember it as a very sad time. Like I was riding a wave of grief. The only advice I can give you is to give yourself all the nurturing you possibly can. I will never forget that little bub. I still imagine there is a little place in me that will hold a special place for my little one. Its a tough time and it is good to have a forum like this were there are other women who can hold your hand who understand xxx

kenta...so sorry to hear about yoru BFN... sigh... but honey.. I would swap in a heartbeat your 40yr old eggs with my nearly 44yr old ones...oh to be such a spring chicken.
I had the same delima with my 41.5yr old eggs... I ended up doing 3 cycles and banked 6 embryos... and then got pregnant on my last cycle. So I then had 6 41yr old embryos to use with trying for #2 ... at 44yrs.... I am glad I did it as it is a chance I might not have other wise. I am doing one more fresh cycle then I have 3 frosties to use before I call it quits

zannah... Oh I am so sorry for you ... so heartbreaking to get this far with hope and then have something like this happen.... grrr the most common reason is usually that the embryo has a trisomy... and as you have probably figured a lot of us have been where you are this year already. I was lucky with my misscarrage in that it ended very early without fuss... but I would be devistated to be in your shoes. Comfort food hugs, massage do them all and take heart you body made a beautiful blast and it implanted and grew so everything works, the chances that you fall pregnant with a lovely healthy baby the next cycle is high... big hugs

    Hi Ladies

Zannah – sorry to hear your loss, I know, it is so devastating. I agree with the other ladies, I opted for D&C and had the chance to get embryo tested, ended up it had trisomy problems related to age, that’s when I started the DHEA and Growth Hormones, end result DD. I also had a natural m/c, and was just as devastating! But go with what you feel is right for you.

Kenta – this ride totally sucks when you get a BFN, feeling your pain!

Tens – I believe the last go always gives you the prize, I hope I am right!

Net – My acupuncturist is Dr Yum-Fei Lu in Mosman Park, fantastic!

Lilwish – how are you feeling?

Well, change of plans for me, I am back to ICSI, egg retrieval tomorrow, let’s hope I get two and both fertilize. Looks like transfer will be Monday if all going well.

Short and sweet for me, DD doesn’t give me enough time on the laptop!

Thinking of you tens and Anxious.
Tens are you using donor eggs or embryos?
For what it's worth Zannah I would go with a D & C as the second month after your fertility is apparently increased. It will drop 6 months after but it does give you a fertile window to work with.

Hi Tens - I was thinking of you today at 10am while in recovery room after my EPU .

Well, a big surprise, they got 3 eggs yippy. I have to take two pessaries today E2 & Viagra to improve my lining (7.1) before ET Monday.

Micca - tomorrow I start combined pessaries prog and est...i have some left over from previous cycle but they say discard on 17 June...do you think they will still be alright to use, or should I go and get a new lot?

    ok that they all fertilise!
