Fort I stand corrected my parking this time only cost $30, another time it cost $50, regardless it was definitely not fancy but that's Sydney for you. Lol!

Just found out my cycle's been cancelled for now anyway as my oestrogen levels are too high - progesterone and fsh are low. They couldn't tell me what this means so I have to go back in a week for another blood test. Anyone had this before? Ive been googling and i think its either a cyst or low ovarian reserve.
I'm sorry about your cycle wanabe. I can't really help with any answers I'm sorry, I just know that clinics have 'standard' levels to go ahead with a transfer/cycle. I have fairly high oestrogen but it's due to polycystic ovaries, which means that when ovulating I have many eggs. In turn, the number of those eggs contributes to the high level of oestrogen.

I hear you on the $ with Sydney parking !!! Do you have to park in the city ? Can't remember what clinic you are....

I hope you get some good news soon.

    Hi ladies

I've been MIA for some time now - but have tried to keep up with all of your stories. I've been celebrating and commiserating with you all along the way.
Like some of you have mentioned before, it's hard to keep in touch sometimes when you really need to try to stop thinking about it all for a while...hence not logging onto BH to post.

Well it's time at last to get 'back on the horse'... My acup went os for a while, so i wanted to make sure I'd had at least a full AF cycle with her again before starting ivf again. So now it's time for our very last ivf cycle....

After 10 cycles (inc IUI, IVF fresh & 1 frozen) & 3 mc, we've decided to do one last 'hurrah' as closure before fully accepting life without children. To be honest, neither of us feels hopeful at all - more like going through the motions just so we know we've tried everything so we're ready to accept. Based on prior experience, we know that a combo of ivf & acup results in pregnancy for us, but keeping it is the problem... so we're bracing for our last mc (before we're even pg!). in fact we've planned a trip to tassie in August and have worked out that this will be just after our mc so will be a good consolation trip - how horrible is that!

Anyway, went for scan last Thurs (day 2) and lining looked good, already had 5 follies on left and a couple on right! Good start! So on gonal f 450/day & synarel 2x/day (yuck!). Back for scan tomorrow morning to see how follies are growing (hopefully good news)

On the down side, my 2 fibroids (on the outside of uterus) are still same fortunately but unfortunately I now have a few tiny ones growing in the uterine muscle (largest about 3-4mm)... so too tiny to remove, and FS cant say whether they will affect pg or not - great!

As my FS doesn't believe in pumping supporting drugs to support a pregnancy (apart from progesterone), my obs has agreed to prescribe these once I get a BFP. So this is our change - not prepared to do just the same again. If it's chromo issues (as FS believes) then so be it - no baby, but if it's lack of support (as obs believes) then maybe...

Anyway, sorry about the 'me' post. I promise I'm not always 'all about me'.
Will get to personals asap. (I find it hard to get onto laptop at night after being on computer all day - last thing I feel like doing - pity about facebook - who knows what everyone's doing in facebook land )

Hi to all of you - and hoping I can join your baby club too

Next scan is in a weeks time.

It is still so early zannah, much can come down to the sonographer - ie one sonographer can get another measurement to another on the same day. To my way of thinking, 10mm (ie what your doc says) is actually big for the stage you're at and while I don't want to encourage over-googling, I think you'll find the average size is certainly less than 10mm. I am no doctor by any stretch but I would remain hopeful if I were you, especially with a HB.

Oh lilwish, it's great to see you again & I really really hope this is the "ONE" for you. It was our 9th cycle that finally got us over the line (or at least to where we are now) so I'm holding out lots of hope for you.

lilwish... my heart and hopeful wishes go out to you for this cycle... lets hope that it sticks.. you sound a bit like I was in my last cycle all planned for a bfn and then it worked..lol... but hopefully no MC for you.
And feel free to have a you post we all understand how busy life is...
I would recomend talking to this lady and getting her sticky mix...chinese herbs you take after transfer... I have used them 3 times and had a bfp twice.. not sure if it is conincedence or it helps... but Im doing it again this cycle. her web site is fertilityherbs.com.au she specialises in fertilty chinese meds and acupuncture and will do the consult by phone or skype (you can claim on insurance) and post the herbs out to you. I also take deer velvet during the luteal phase (500mg) which supports the endometrium and promotes progesterone... and you feel great on it... off cycle I take it daily.... Also ..oh no not again..lol... maybe try clexane... the dose is 40mcg daily start after epu and continue until beta... it can make a real difference if you have not tried it... OB would probably give you a scrip or GP if FS does not... but honestly if this is your last horrah I would definately be doing this... it is supposed to improve blood supply to the endometrium and reduce microemboli impeding implantation... of course if you already take it then woohoo.
    Sorry about the essay...lol.

    Zannah.
... the measurements in early pregnancy are so dependant on the sonographers skills and the resolution of the machine. Most FSs have mid range machines so often it is difficult to get details.. whereas the machines used in private radiology companies are high resolution and often a lot better.

check out this page which explains HB per embryo size
    http://miscarriage.about.com/od/imme...malfetalhr.htm

rule of thumb on uss risks
< 6w3d HB >120..low risk miscarriage HB<100 high chance miscarriage
    >6w3d-7w HB >120 low risk miscarriage HB <120 high miscarriage risk

I hope this gives you some guidence... but hang in there its so hard at the beginning

    wannabemum.
.. bummer on the cancelled cycle.. I had 3 in a row so I now it sucks..mine was from high progesterone.. anyway high oestrogen is likely due to a cyst on the ovaries... oh I had a ivf cycle cancelled for that.. my FS put me on the pull for 28days and it resolved and my levels were all good for my cycle...
use this month to get healthy and have a good ultrasound of your ovaries..

    hi to everyone else...
got to go...and attend to an unhappy person

WannabeMum, I'd be checking the price of that Saizen. Mine cost me $35. It is always worth asking about the medication prices. Often chemists, compounding and other can supply cheaper so you can ask for and take a script elsewhere. I think being assertive over what you are willing to pay makes clinics think twice about charging something so outrageous. I paid a lot less for DHEA at a compounding chemist interstate than at my clinic. Luckily I was travelling anyway but if not the chemist told me they were willing to post it. If I need DHEA again, that's what I'll be doing.

Micca - thanks for sharing your cyst story . Needless to say I had to pizza and wine myself up last night to get over this little setback. Today is another day and like you Im determined to do it healthy. No alcohol, gluten, sugar, caffeine for me! I will even give that drink you mentioned u r taking in a smoothy a go though it doesn't sound very nice.

Zannah - now is the time to do something indulgent and caring for yourself. Perhaps nurturing (bath/massage/reading/catchup with friends/getting your hair done) is the best thing you can do at the moment that might help if there is a mind body connection? Anyway thinking of you. x
