Micca- my god you are one fertile woman. Great news. Hope your beta tomorrow is great. Just shows that any embie has a chance.

Sunny- I know someone who is doing overseas cycle with much higher Ana levels and is on prednisolone aspirin and clexane. She has seen a specialist and that is what they recommended too. Also she bought the book from Alan Beer ( I think that's right) and that is his recommendation too- maybe not clexane but she is taking it to cover all bases.

OMG Micca that's fantastic I can't wait to here your numbers and then the wait for how many??? I will be checking all night for your numbers

Sunny I am so sorry Hun that you didn't get much info from your app I still think they just do half this stuff for the money!!! I really believe that this is all a numbers game and no one has any control over it!!

Afm well what an appointment he went right back through my history and said well it's time we through the book at you and gave everything a shot to see if we can make it happen so heres the plan
I start on dhea ASAP and take that for two months(actually 4 months) then in 2 months he wants me to start stem cell treatment??? Has anyone done this or heard anything about it as I am not able to find much about it. My fs said they are having some great results from it so who knows it's about 6-7 injections and then I can do a cycle so I'm not seeing my fs until September again!!! Wow it's a long way away oh and he said he will use melatonin on me this time and the filigrastim so it's going to be a megga expensive cycle!!! Then today I was telling my closest girlfriend and she has offered to give me her eggs she said she would love to do that for me how amazing is that it's has made me cry a lot that she would do that for me!!! Im not sure if she is too old as she is 37 what do you guys think???

Micca - Cant wait to hear your beta numbers.....could it be triplets!!!!

Leannep - WOW....what a cycle! Never heard of stem cell treatment, but would LOVE to hear more about it. I think there might be an age cut off for providing donor eggs....not sure, but I think it is either 35 or 37...it might be posted on the donor egg thread...I think that is where I read it.

    AFM
I have finally calmed down...got a bit upset last night! I think I was so upset because I didnt get answers, when I thought for sure I would.

DP was great...he asked me why was I so upset when the result of the ANA specialist was good; ie I didnt have an issue/problem with +ANA. So I just have to look at it another way....the +ANA can now be crossed off my 'possible reasons Im not getting pregnant' list! The more tests/specialist appointments I have, the more I know that there is NO reason why I cannot get pregnant!!!

DP and I had coffee today and worked out our next plan of attack....basically we have both lost confidence with our FS, ONLY because he is too conservative/cautious (he is not willing to put risk out there, even though we have asked several times), BUT now we are also at the mercy of finances.

So we have decided to get a second opinion from another FS at the same clinic, who is based in Perth and is touted as a leading Australian fertility specialist. We will do a consult with him whilst we gather information/costs on transferring our embryos to Bne to cycle with Dr Wazza. I know this other Perth FS will not just agree with my current FS, as we have had a consult with him in the past and he was much more aggressive in his approach. Im kicking myself that I decided to go with current FS....oh well, it was very early on in my IVF journey and I was green!!!

    hi everyone else.

Leannep - see if there is a thread on this forum about stem cell treatment, if not, start one off...see what information is out there. I dont like to rely on Dr Google as we all know that some of the information can be a bit dodgy....but having said that, I Dr Google alot!!!

ok results in ...similar to arabella

    day 16po
    estrogen 6500
    progesterone 200
bhcg -67 (A was 86 at 17dpo) so maybe a little higher than Arabella

...looks like only one in there... (although A was an identical twin with those numbers....lol....)
Next beta will be monday.... when I am back in town..
was hoping for some bigger numbers but what ever sticks... and I notice that us oldies tend to have lower betas anyway.. but the rising estrogen is a good sign that it has implanted well and things are going good.... so now the little embie has to form and stick... will do uss around 26th may if the next few weeks goes well....
    M xxx

Hey Sunny glad you calmed down. I think getting new FS input is a good idea. Do you plan to go armed asking about the sort of things Leanne mentions? DHEA, seratonin? Perth must be tricky that way, it's not like you can jump in a car and travel to a different city easily.

Leanne- been waiting to see your post with your latest news from the appointment. Wow, he sure sounds like he is throwing the book at you! I have never even heard of most of the things you mention. I have heard about DHEA. I read about Serotonin as it is used in the colarado protocol. Stem cells? hmm that is a new one to me as is filigrastim. Seems a shame Sunny can't see your FS as he seems very progressive with treatment.
From what I have read about donor eggs I have seen more 35 mentioned. BUT if you know her and she is willing maybe they will allow it? Surely? it's not like there are hundreds of spare eggs lying about. She must be such a great friend, you are very blessed.

Micca...??? Any news? Been thinking about you all day. Saying a little prayer.

AFM: BT /Dildo cam #2 tomorrow. Hope some more troops have been 'recruited' I always crack up laughing at some of the terminology, my person favourite is the 'antagonist'- it always makes me think I am about to undertake a literary study of Shakespeare.
Feeling upbeat as I am not having any negative reactions to my medication.

A bit of an out there question - Does anyone know what the statistics/chances are of a 47 year old conceiving multiples from:

    1. transferring 2 x 34 year old donor eggs/embryos; and
    2. transferring 1 x 34 year old donor egg/embryo with assisted hatching.

I am prepared to risk having multiples....FS is not...his super conservative/cautious nature. FS is only ever prepared to transfer 1 and I had to talk him into assisted hatching.

    Thanks fellow IVF Over 40s.
