    Hi Girls,
Apolodies for not writing sooner. Our phone/net as been down for over a week. There is a new estate being built across the road and the developers cut our lines and this afternoon the work was completed so we are human again!!! Well, as human as one can be.
I will read through the posts over the next day and catch up on your journeys. I see there are new members which is awesome.
As for me, well, the last I wrote I was heading for a scan. HCG was rising but I was spotting and all preg symptoms gone.
HCG is still rising but the scan was not good, The embriotic sac was empty. The preg failed to develop. I knew something was wrong.
So for me, 2 transfers, 2 pos preg tests, one 9 week m/c and now this. I am off my drugs obviously and waiting to m/c. I have had 2 days of bleeding, a week apart, had another blood test today and surprisingly my boobs are sore and full, blue veins are back, and no doubt my hcg will still be rising which is aparently about the sac and not its contents, or lack of.
I will have a D&C on Monday if it doesnt start to baseline.
Feeling? Well, tired, physically and emotionally. Only 2 donor embies left. Having more bloods to do further testing and see why I am implanting but my pregs are failing. My tears have gone and now I am cranky, feeling jipped and just exhausted.
Anyway girls, I will catch up on your updates over the next day or so and send you all my best wishes and thoughts.

leanne... i am so happy for you... you must be so excited! i will pass all of my positive thoughts onto you...

my collection wasn't so successful... 7 follicles but no eggs at all.. i am becoming a little disillusioned with my fs... he wasn't there to do the procedure and a fs i do not know did it (it concerns me that a fs that doesn't have any prior knowledge or face to face timewith me wouldn't have as much emotional attachment and concern to try as hard to find eggs in the follicles?)... he had told me last thursday that he may have a surgery today and may not be there ... from all of the paperwork it seems there wasn't ever any intention of him being there.. after the nurse explained there wasn't any eggs i asked to speak to the fs who carried out the procedure and she suggested i try hgh... which i had asked my fs about before this cycle and his reply was simply no he does not use it... the fs also said my follicles were way too big and it is difficult to find eggs in such large follicles (my cycle had been drawn out to 18 days due to the public holidays which it appears was way too long in this circumstance) where as my fs had said not to be too concerned that my follicles were getting rather large as it would give a bigger target... she also suggested i change my meds if i have another cycle ( i am not sure if my finances can afford another one as i am uninsured) which again i questioned my fs about before commencing the same cycle as last time this cycle and he simply said the same meds should be fine?...

    *beware... mention of chocolate*

so my day is to be spent wollowing in a chocolate coma of hersheys carmel kisses and old gold chocolate with toffee (which i had asked my husband to hide just in case today hadn't gone to plan)... he has been fabulous and took the day off just incase the result wasn't great as my last cycle i spent it alone upset...

so today i will wallow in chocolate and chinese takeaway and i am passing all of my hopes and positive thoughts onto you leanne... i hope with all my heart your eggs all fertilise and stay strong ready for your transfer monday.

    p

petrof...Im so sorry to hear that you have had such a bad experience again.. gosh no eggs... I understand where you are coming from wondering about protocols and operator expertise. I guess its probably time to think a new plan.... move or stay with your FS.
I have to love your husband for taking a day off work... does he have a single brother...lol... enjoy the comfort food... maybe a nice icecream sundae with chocolate fudge sauce, roast almond slivers, choc chips....mmmm might have to think about that myself.....
big hugs it is certainly not a great day... I hope that it improves.

DJ... I am sorry that it did not work out the way you hoped. I so hoped with all my heart that it was going to have a happy ending. Make sure they send off the sac for genetic testing so at least you have some answers. I know that I cant make anything better for you but just know that I read your post with a very sad heart and I hope that you are able to keep going, I know that you will get there with a bub, but just cant tell you how long it will take....

Leanne... great news on the follicle collection... lets hope that there are some really nice blasts in that lot... I hope that you are resting up and relaxing. Cant wait for your fert report.

ok well a busy day..... zipped up to brisbane for the scan and bloodtest. The scan was good everything nice and thin, ovaries good... although one grotty follie... FS was not worried. blood tests were all good... and finally the levels are good... so we are cycling...starting gonalF tonight... GAME ON !!! feeling nervous...all the worries of am I over suppressed? will I get a decent number of follicles? or has the system shut down over the last 2 years.?... I guess the ultrasound on monday will show... Off home tomorrow then back to brissie weds night for my scan on thurs....and staying until transfer...
Better book the flights I guess...

Leanne- 6 eggs sounds very positive. Yeah for you!!! Plus it sounds like you tolerated everything well too. Did you do anything different to have no pain relief?

Petrov- sounds like the Easter holiday really took it's toll on plans. Sorry to hear that.

Micca- game on? GAME SET MATCH!!! Touch down time!!!! Fingers crossed for you.

As for me: Did something MASSIVE today. Bit the bullet and told my parents that we are hoping for a baby through IVF. They susprised me- they weren't judgemental about age at all and were actually really delighted. SO SO SO happy and relieved. I told them that we have seen a FS, had all the baseline testing and approval and that I have seen the Fetal Specialist for his opinion which was favourable. So they know any medical concerns have been well planned and covered. Mum told me I am one of the most caring people she has ever met and that I would be a fantastic mother for another child- this comment made my day.

djshears - So sorry to read your news dj...how awful. It is all supposed to be so much easier for us oldies using donor eggs, but it isnt...I only have 2 donor eggs/embryos left too, so I understand the pressure that is put on them to not only produce one child but to produce a genetic sibling...the embryos are so precious. Get angry dj, we have every right to be angry. I hope you get some answers from your further testing. Take care

    - How lovely to get such a beautiful comment from your mum and wonderful to have your parents support. To answer your question regarding clexane...it is a blood thinner but I havent quite got my head around how clexane v's aspirin fits into a low positive ANA result...will know more after my appointment.

Micca - You go girl....Yay for finally cycling! Forgive me Micca, but are you doing a medicated FET or going the whole fresh cycle? I cant remember if you had any frosties after your FET, sorry. Regardless, congratulations...first inj tonight...it must feel good to finally be on the way.

Petrof - Oh my goodness, I was astounded to read your post. My heart goes out to you. You are getting such conflicting reports...albeit from different FS and FN, but essentially it is the same clinic. I notice that your location is Brisbane...Im not sure if you are considering moving clinics, if so, I would try Dr Warren De Ambrosis, the guru with us oldies. What a wonderful caring DH you have...wallow in your sea of chocky Petrof...take care.

Leannep - I hope the rest of today was pain free and you are feeling well after your EPU. Congratulation on 6 eggs and I will keep my fingers crossed that they all fertilised. Keep us informed.

My mother arrives tomorrow afternoon, I cant wait to see her....she is spending time with her 'little girl' who is turning 47 on Sunday How the heck and when did that happen!!! Im determined not to let it get me down...its just another number, right? In my case, I can always use the saying "you're only as old as the man you feel"!!!
