Micca...there was a mix up on the endometrial biopsy and in the end NKC was not tested, they only tested for infection, which came back negative, so they said no need for any antibiotics. I assumed that meant that there was no infections at all....can there be 2 different infections - 1 in the uterus and 1 in the fallopian tubes? If they only took uterine lining tissue, then it would seem obvious to me that any tubal infection could be missed??

I was very put out about the mix up over the NKC testing, as I have always wanted to definatively rule out that I dont have an issue with NKC. I have had a blood test which came back negative for NKC, however, I understand that the only way to be absolutely positive is a combination of the blood test and the lining biopsy. I pressed the clinic to contact pathology to see if the tissue was still viable to test NKC, however, it wasnt and had been disposed.

Question: FS said that he would not put me on clexane and keep me on aspirin (Cardiprin) due to a low positive for anti-nuclear antibodies. My blood test this year for ANA came back 1 in 464, slightly up from last year at 1 in 460. Not sure how this translates as clexane v's aspirin. Dr Wazza seems to use clexane regardless as part of his standard protocol.

My FS protocol for HRT FET (donor and my own eggs) is:
    2 x 5mg Prednisolone daily since Day 1
    3 x 4mg Progynova daily since Day 1
Day 3 - Endometrial Biopsy, scratch and lipiodol flush (not done on my own egg FET)
    1 x 10mg Oestradiol pessary from Day 12 - Day 16
    2 x 400mg Progesterone pessaries and 1 x 500mg/2mg Progesterone/Oestradoil pessary from Day 17 to Blood Test
1 x aspirin (Cardiprin) from ET to Blood Test

My lining at ET either just made it to 8mm or not much over that....8mm seems to be all I can muster in every one of my 5 cycles. FS and Dr Wazza says its workable...not ideal, but certainly not bad.

I am wondering if a FET 'version' of the Colorado Protocol may get me over the line....but everytime I suggest this protocol to FS, he is not impressed by it. Says that there is no real evidence that it works. Cant understand it....he has tried everything else I have suggested or discussed with him.

I will ensure to get progesterone and estrogen numbers along with HCG tomorrow.

Thanks for your all your help and assistance Micca and especially your best wishes for tomorrow....going to need them!

PS: Interesting what you said about Hydrosalpinx...during my HyCoSy, FS could not get the dye through my left fallopian tube, however, he said that it didnt necessarily mean that I had a blocked tube. He said that it often happens that the second tube receiving dye will sometimes go into spasms after the first tube, so the dye cannot go through. However, during my lap/hyst over a year ago, FS stated that 'bilateral tubal patency was demonstrated'...might question him further on that.

hi everyone...please feel free to comment...any suggests welcome, just want to get those illusive 2 pink lines!!!

    BFN...HCG: <2, Est: 4300, Prog: 76

I am so damn angry and upset with the world at the moment, what the heck do I have to do...currently I dont believe in luck, karma or a higher being - if they existed, I wouldnt be suffering now!!! I know that I will get over it, but at the moment all my pills and potions, acupuncture and positive visualisation cd's are being put away (fat lot of good they did me anyway) and I will drag them out after a debaucherous easter weekend.

sunny......... bugger bugger bugger bugger bugger bugger bugger... if I could be on your doorstep with a good wine and some chocolate I would be there now, listening to you vent away and passing tissues... make some time for you tomorrow... maybe a nice massage?q`

hmmmm I wonder if all the artifical hormones are what your body does not like?? certainly if you want to focus on something it would be getting that lining thicker...

what about a medicated Fet... I did femura 5mg CD2-6 then gonalF cycle day 6-10 to produce 2 lovely follicles and nice levels of natural progesterone and estrogen. It could be that the hrt does not suit your body... or you could try a natural FET... maybe monitor hormones and opks and linings and just see what you get for a cycle... if it was my guts on the precious embies... and I went throught the same dilema with DD frozens... then I would push for a medicated fet... but with prednisone and clexane... and increase the prednisone to 25mg from ovulation for 6-7 days then reduce back down to 10mg... you can do this yourself if FS not happy... wazza was fine for me to do this.. and I also did it with Arabellas protocol..... also I would try taking the prednisone for 10mg 1 month prior to ovulation... studies show that if you have NKC then you need it for this long.... I hope that this is food for thought Im really drawing on personal info and research... (my body hated HRT FETs). and if you FS is not coming to the game and trying different things...then honestly go to a new FS or a different one in the same practice... those embies are precious ...

leanne... woohoo for the next cycle beginning... yay for going all out again with everything that will help your cycle. how was the scan?? a baseline one??
Im hoping that this is your turn... bfps always seem to come in runs...so lets hope it continues.

    DJ... how are you going?

Sunny... I hope that you have a good stock of goodies for this easter weekend...

well I made it to brisbane..woohoo..a huge day travelling starting at 630am.. man it is hot... so not used to it with our low autumn temps... so called into the FS today and picked up some more lucrin..and of course replaced the saizen and luveris that I shot up before the cycle was cancelled.. paying for that was a very large ouch.... booked my scan for weds so lets hope that it is all good and everything is going to plan. still a lot nervous. if it is good on weds..then look to start stimming then... so I took the last bcp wed am and just waiting for AF..hopefully on saturday morning, although I am not sure of how big it will be with all the breakthrough bleeding I have had on the bcp.
Anyway Im shattered.. I hope that you all have a lovely good friday..xx

    Hello,
I am brand new to this forum.
DH and I are about to start IVF in May.
We have seen the fertility specialist, had heaps of tests and are good to go.
Still feeling rather freaked out by it all. So different to when I had my previous 3 children. I had DS young and he was conceived while I was on the pill. With DD #1 and #2 I went off the pill and 'pregnant'. Sadly I had bad pre-eclampsia with all 3, all were premmie. So I had my tubes tied 14 years ago when my DD was born. Deep inside my heart I always wanted 4 children, for the last 14 years I have grieved the child I feel I have lost.
To cut a long story short, we have had advice from a local fetal medicine professor and have his blessing to plan a pregnancy. Our best option due to age is IVF. I am hopeful, yet scared.
Apparently we need to use ICSI to maximise possible sucess.

    Anyway, that is me.
    Any help/ guidance/ thoughts/ ANYTHING!!! appreciated!

fortitude...welcome to our group of lovely ladies with years of experience. It sounds like you have got a long road ahead of you.
One thing that I can advice is that studies have shown that taking aspirin preconception has been shown to decrease preeclampsia risk. Also taking calcium and magnesium daily while TTC and during pregnancy can help... I looked into this as my family has a strong history of preeclampsia.
i posted a list of vitamins that can help on page 41.
also your partner should also be on vitamins as he is 50% of the embryo... menivit.. 3 a day would probably do the trick... all the vitamins need about 3 months to fully work... so the sooner you take them the better.
I buy a lot from USA as it is a lot cheaper
    good luck...
I also do acupuncture weekly which can help.

    Thanks for the Welcome Micca!!!
Thanks for the tips. Luckily I have had great advice from my FS team- and have started on a calcium (as I am on Clexane... yeah I know another complicator).
Am also on folate, Vit C and Vit D. DH is on the exact Vit supp you mention.
So glad to see we are at least starting right !!
Our Fetal medicine professor has met with me and given us the OK as I have lost alot of weight since my previous pregnancies. He said it is likely to be less severe- so fingers crossed.

Kind of petrified starting the whole thing. But I guess it is the path I need so I have to suck it up and jump in. If you know what I mean?

    Hello everyone
I have been MIA for ages, sorry I haven't been around but I think of everyone often and I have been lurking but not much time to post properly.

Sunny I am just so bloody sorry, why does this keep happening to good people ? I wish I had some advice, either medical or emotional to help you. For what it's worth, my FS is a non-believer in Colorado & aspirin, I just don't know anymore, I seem to read so many different things. In the end my BFP came with something like the following:-

    pre-natal vits (blackmores)
    additional CQ10
    clexane for first trimester
25 mgs of prednisone per day from transfer until end of first trimester
    acupuncture

Micca, good luck with the start of your cycle again, for you.

Leanne, good to see you're cycling again, I really really hope this is the one.

Fortitude welcome, I have been in and around this thread for about 18 months now, fabulous women, supportive & knowledgable, I hope your dream comes true asap.

Hi to everyone else ... hope you are traveling okay.

    *preg mentioned*

AFM, all seems to be going okay, I am 22 wks today and we found out we are having a little (that is a baby boy if you can't tell, the icon looks like Mary had a little lamb).
