Default A question for those with girls in late primary school and above *Maybe TMI*

I am wondering if any who has girls who have gone through or started puberty could help me out a little...

Did you notice any signs BEFORE your DD got her first period that it was coming? If so what did you notice and roughly how long before?

    Thanks

I think there might been a bit of undy marking for quite some time (months) before the first period.

I'm a little concerned my DD1 is getting close to having hers....over the last few months her 'bumps' have gotten a lot bigger (really quickly actually) her body is changing shape, she has pimples etc is getting mood swings (although that could be anything knowing her!) but my main concern is that for the last 2 days she has had a horrible cramp in the period pain area and we have eliminated all causes except that.....we are prepared if it happens and I have had talks with her but I am due to go into hospital and have bub next week I would absolutely hate to not be here for her when it happens, that's a time when a girl really needs her Mum around and I would feel absolutely horrible if I wasn't here for her I know if it happens it can't be helped but then I also feel bad not for her but for her Father too as he will be the one having to help her out and that's something we have always seen as Mum's stuff but hopefully it's not going to happen just yet

There are 10 signs (that most girls normally get some or a combination of) but i can't remember them all now,
    here what I can remember

    Budding boobs, sore boobs
    under arm hair
    pubic hair
    bloating
    cramping but no bleeding

Sorry that all I can remember off the top of my head
I found a great book *warning it a Christan book but go through all sign and all the different products etc....
I will see if I can find a link for you.

I think they GENERALLY say you will get breasts and pubic hair prior to your period - usually by around a year. For me, it was longer between, but it's just a general guideline for MOST people I think.

They might get some spotting before a PROPER period too. It could also be months and months before you see any blood again.

I never had any signs leading up to my period... other than spotting about 6 months beforehand, which I hid from my mother by simply throwing my undies away. lol.
