Oh darn, this thread gives me a bit of reality. We're going to have a three year eight month gap this time (longer than we'd planned) but I was considering an 18 month gap next time... perhaps I should reconsider

I was going through this thread and nearly 5 years on I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful supportive words of advice everyone gave at the time!
You were right - it became so much easier as they got older. Harder in other ways (when they gang up on me) but gosh, they are both in school now and only a year apart and it's amazing that they do everything together.
To anyone who is reading this and struggling with a small age gap - hang in there, it not only gets better, it gets AMAZING! Totally worth it!
