As the PP said, but the Obstetrician put numbing spray on my cervix before inserting the Mirena. After the numbing stuff was put on I didnt feel it. Only was slightly uncomfortable to have it removed as well

I must have had an evil gyno stumbleine no numbing spray for me!

I found removal quite painful and had cramps for several hours afterwards.

Lol felicia me2. Noone said anything about a numbing spray!!! They said something bout a local needle n i said no to that lol. Feels kinda like a small contraction as i think they dialate the cervix. Apparently my cervix was like a vice grip took 30mins to get it in. OUCH! but the pain is bearable. No tears from me =) thanks girls. Ill give it another month crossed fingers!

I had the Merina put in Sept and ever since having it done I have had heaps of hair loss, headaches and are always tired. I haven't had any bleeding though. Has anyone else had those side effects?

I had my Merina put in about 10 ...11 months ago now .......
Didn't hurt for me when getting it put in.
Had some spotting on and off for a few months and about 3 maybe 4 periods....

I get some slight very slight blood when I wipe myself when I go to the toilet .....but haven't had the monthly bleeding (period) since August .....(Thank GOD..)

So what I am saying it does take a while to settle down and hit in ...but
    I LOVE IT......

Well I went back to the gyno and he ended up pulling it out because I was losing so much hair and was not growing any.
