Default BH Ambassador for the Illawarra region - Lets get this section going again!

Hi everyone I have been appointed BH Ambassador for the Illawarra region and I would love to get this section going again. I know we have a group on FB, but I am sure there are new ladies joining BH that don't know about our little section.

As BH Ambassador for the Illawarra I would love to set up a regular meet so that we could all get to know each other a little more and so that we can have some support outside the hub (as I know that some of us don't have a mother's group IRL). If you would like to suggest a day or time please do.

I would also like to get some feedback on what you want on BH. Do you want to see some information dedicated to the Illawarra? eg. Info on 24hr pharmacies, a printable guide for the area, paediatrician info, Obstetrician information, Fertility Specialist information...you name it and I will see what I can do (as long as it isn't too crazy).

I really look forward to this group going again and organising some meets!! Also mods could you please make this sticky!

    HI guys!

I am interested in pharmacies, it always seems as though they're all closed by 9pm. Do we have any open later than that?

I will talk to them about it. Although I think they have mentioned it some where else before that they are unable to change it due to the advertising company...but I will talk to the BH Editor and get back to you

Here is BH response to the ads...

Basically, it costs a fair amount to run the forum. We require expensive web hosting, because of the volume of traffic as well as the bh admin team to implement software upgrades, etc, etc. That's thousands a month. And so to keep the forum, and the rest of the site free, we HAVE to have advertising. If viewers clicked on the ads & looked at the products on those sites, we could charge a premium for our ads & have fewer of them. . The alternative, is to charge for use of the forum. We have many members who get invaluable support from the site who might not be able to afford a subscription fee.

We try to keep costs down & still run the site from our own home.

We are happy to listen to any ideas that members have for other ways to fund the forum - there's a feedback section on the forum.

If there is just one particular type of ad that members object to, just let us know. We are listening, but there are practical considerations.

I would like to add to the above that we are paid for the ads that appear on our site by an advertiser agreeing a set amount of $ for each time the ad appears. We are not paid each time the ad is clicked on. But of your site is known to have responsive viewers who regularly click on ads, the amount you can charge per ad appearance is increased. Consequently, you need fewer ads to cover your costs.

i can understand that it costs but they are really over the top now!
they use to just be at the top and the bottom not taking up half the screen!
    really really off putting

i used to be a huge poster here but with that i really cant
    its way to much

I don't know if it just what I can see but I think they may have gotten rid of the big ad that fills the screen

    Hey
The new layout doesnt really bother me, but im guessing if we click on the ads every visit or so, they may have less ads??
Anyway, Id love to know a pharmacy thats open early in the morning. Its usually after a long night that you run out of something and have to wait till 9 am to get anything!!!
Well congrats on making BH Ambassador for the Illawarra
And as for meets, im happy to make a meet if im given at least a weeks notice, and i think id prefer a weekend

hey everyone, this chat seems to have died off a bit! Is there anyone here expecting during 2012? Any advice on any pre natal and post natal exercise groups?
