Id hate to burst everyones bubbles thinking that those middies were being mean. Thats life on a labour ward. They go through this cr@p every day its how they cope with jokes and laughing and even the rolled eyes at the more dramatic labourers . To you yes its magical, to them you're another vagina coming through the wards .. sounds harsh but in a hospital thats how it is.

I dont think it makes them bad people either,it takes a special person to deal with what they deal with and its a lot more than just getting sworn at and cleaning up poop. But if they didnt block a lot of it out a lot of them wouldn't cope.

I know everybody is different and still believe that the majority of them play it up because they know it is being filmed..

I still find it highly amusing the way some of them carry on! The best one was the Asian from last season... 'he put his whole hand up there... HIS WHOLE HAND!!!' Her non stop whinging was enough to turn anybody off.. beats me how the hubby puts up with her.. very entertaining though!

That was Joy, she was so funny but yeah by the end of it you were like ugh hurry up. I have a new appreciation for midwives thats for sure!

Yep you can watch it online at the SBS website.

This series is a fantastic advertisement for home birth, I reckon. I'd pay anything to avoid birthing in those conditions.

One of them was really sweet, I'd love a midwife like her

Not all hospital based midwives are awful. I have had a few really lovely, caring, gentle ones with my girls

    .
I can absolutely guarentee you that to most midwives you are NOT another vagina walking into the labour ward and if a midwife has that attitude then it's time for him/her to seriously reconsider their career.

I found the partner and the 18 year old, janet really odd. she was so not into being a mum, I wonder how she went in the following months
That dad (as sweet as he was, crying) was very strange... I'm not sure I could have tolerated them both for a Nightshift
    I found her very non-maternal
