Default Four weeks (approx) pregnant and freaking out!

    Hi everyone

I found out on Monday that I am pregnant and I am really over the moon!

However, yesterday (TMI ahead...) after sitting on toilet I noticed some brown blood on the toilet paper. It stoppd after a few minutes. I took another FR test and the test line was much darker than the control line.

    The same thing happened today.

I don't have painful cramps as such...it's like a little ache or heavy feeling in my uterus.

I had a dating scan last night but there was nothing to be seen which the doctor said means I am between 3 and 5 weeks pregnant (my dates suggest four weeks). Apparently my lining is really thick which the doctor was really pleased about.

Is this brown discharge normal? Is the ache I'm feeling normal?

This is my first so I want everything to go smoothly...

    The ache/cramp is totalllly normal...

I was like you.. Worried also because I was feeling crampy early in pregnancy, but was assured it was because of all the stretching going on down there.

With regards to the brown blood... It sounds like old blood that is just left over. I wouldnt be too worried unless it was a lot of blood and was bright red.... Brown isnt the stuff to worry about (unless there is heaps and heaps of it)

Good luck with everything and congrats on your BFP!

With this pregnancy (I am 33 weeks now) I had a big bleed about when AF would have come....brown and red blood for 2 days and I was sure I was miscarrying (I got 3 BFPs for the previous 3 days).

But apparently its normal and can happen to some women....funny thing is it has never happended in my previous 3 pregnancies!

And also the feeling of 'not quite cramping' in the uterus is normal. Your body is getting ready for bubs and the hormones coursing through your system is starting to stretch the uterus.

You will find that there are sooooo many things that happen during pregnancy which are considered normal!

Good luck and enjoy the ride!

I will be 5 weeks tomorrow, and ever since I found out I was pregnant, I have had dull cramps and a heavy feeling, this is perfectly normal, and is just your body adjusting. This is my first as well and I have been freaking out about every little thing!!
    Congratulations and good luck

Thank you all so much! I'm feeling a lot better now.

I'll just picture my little one getting snuggled in and that's what's causing these symptoms.

I wish you all the best with your pregnancies too! It's such an exciting time!

    Kate
