Has anyone read this book, and are the methods effective? What age group are the methods developed for?

As a school counsellor, I've been a facilitator for parenting programs and and found 1,2,3 magic! to be fantastic, if used consistently, and this really is the key. You have to be strong, and your partner MUST support you. I've educated grandparents and regular babysitters about the program too, so they support the parents as well. Kids respond really well to strong boundaries and this program reinforces that.
The book itself is great, but if you attend a class you'll really benefit from sharing with other parents and the facilitators - everyone has parenting moments where they weren't the most supportive or understanding or tolerant parent. It's good to hear everyone share these, then share their successes once they've started the program.
