    Thanks Girls

Wilson - did you guys leave more than one sample at the clinic? We are just wondering whether we should leave a couple. Yum still on the pineapple. Hopefully the bromolin will help with implantation.

Helenmac - thanks Hun. Glad to hear I am not alone. You are spot on. I find it cathartic to speak about all possibilities, so then at least I can prepare myself and perhaps then have the strength for a back up plan. After all, you don't get to this stage of your fertility life without repeated failures.

Jodie - definitely going to Roben island and booked for next Tuesday. As for Medfem, they have been flat out communicating with me lest alone recommending leaving a sample. Hence, our future treatment will definitely be with CFC. I should have known ages ago to go with them. CFC doctors have always been very responsive and willing to assist. We only went with Medfem as the donor refused to donate outside of Joburg. Medfem was also more expensive than CFC. The doctor I was supposed to see wasn't there. We took a number like at Coles and then my consultation consisted of a scan and a 5 min consult. No questions re my ART history. All the doctor could say was don't worry when DH was freaking out about when he was to give his specimen. We were both concerned about when the donor had been triggered and then the doctors acknowledgement 'oh the retrievals today'.

Then to top it off the accounts department had no record of the 40,000 ZAR transferred to them 3 weeks beforehand and told us not to worry when they couldn't find it. Thus, why we should have gone through and will definitely do any future treatment with CFC. Besides Cape Town is much nicer city.

My partner left only one sample, though we too were concerned it may not be enough!! Logically, there are millions of wrigglers in normal sperm, so one should be enough. Partner didnt like having to go to the special toilet to do it...what did he expect? candles and soft music??

    Hey Ladies,

Laned - I hope you are going ok in the 2ww. It's so incredibely hard isn't it!!!?
When is your BT? Wishing you all the very best. This just HAS to be it!!!!!!

Jed - Oh WOW not long now!!! Can't wait to hear all your updates. Good luck with everything and hope to hear you have plenty, perfect embies!! So exciting!!

Hi to all the other ladies.

AFM: My hysteroscopy showed a few adhesions that were removed. I definately have high NK cells (CD 57) shown as in the biopsy and confirmed by my new doctor (but I already knew this the preivous Dr's biopsy). I also have high nk cells in the blood (CD56). The next step is to work out which protocol I'll be on. Either IVIg and neupogen or IVIG & Humira. My Dr. is reluctand to prescribe Humira due to the nasty side affects but with all the research I've done Humira is THE drug to tackle those aggressive uterine nk cells. I'm trying to gather as much info as possible to understand a bit more about neupogen and if it's worth giving it a shot or moving straight to humira (if I can persuade my Dr.) I'm in limbo at the moment and very confused!

Wilson - your post made me laugh so hard and I just had to tell DH. How funny 'candles and soft music'. I have to contact CFC tomorrow re his sample.

Jed - yes Medfem did locate the money in the long run. My husband ended up saying we were not leaving until it could be accounted for. They then told us to 'stop stressing about it'!!!!! I have everything crossed for you.

Helen - thanks Hun. BT is on Wed, so should know by lunch time. Have decided not to POAS as I have had Pregnly boosters as per my Brissy Specialists protocol and it will likely still be in my system so just holding out for the BT. I also am so scared that it may not have worked and just want to deal with it if and when the time comes and not before. I am sorry about the extra adhesions, those bloody NK cells. My apologies if you have mentioned it before, but is your specialist working in conjunction with an Immunologist or Rhematologist? All the best with your upcoming decisions.

AFM - drove to Cape point today. Beautiful weather and lovely drive. Car hire is extraordinarily cheap here. Ring around when you get here as you will find rates can vary significantly.

laned I will be sending very positive thoughts on Wednesday.

Helen I always think the more you find out the closer you are to finding a solution that will lead to a BFP. So it's good that they are finding all these things. A database called medline will have journal articles on just about anything but it is usually restricted to universities. Google Scholar is pretty good although sometimes you can't get the full article.

Jed Not long to go now. Try and think of it as a holiday with a few scans. I know it's hard but I enjoyed my time over there despite all the stressors and uncertainty.

WJ How are you going? Things are good with me I'm taking one day at a time. I think you asked for my HCG levels they were 71 and then 341 two days later.

Have you stopped the progesterone injections yet? I have another 3 weeks left but I am so scared to go off them. Does anyone had any advice about continuing with progesterone or reassurance that it is ok to go off them at week 10?

Hello Summershine, I used Crinone, (not those crazy harpoons) and I stopped 2 weeks ago. I have my 12 week scan tomorrow, so fingers crossed, all is well here. You have a very healthy set of numbers there, how are you feeling??
Hi Laned, the very best of luck for Wed. Are you going to POAS before you have the test? Are you enjoying Cape? How was Robben island?
Jed, wow, not long to go now!
and Helenmac, it sounds like youre getting to the bottom of your NK issues, so youll be off to CT soon too! Its been a bit of a SA rush of late...Go Girls! WJ

Jandaw - welcome. These girls have been absolutely awesome and I have learnt a lot from the remarkable women posting on this thread. I registered with a number of agencies and then checked out the donors. I chose a donor primarily to suit my looks and characteristics. I had wanted to go through Cape Fertility Clinic, however she did not wish to leave Joburg. That said, i would strongly recommend Cape Fertility Clinic. We went there today to leave a sample for DH in case things don't work out this time. They went over and above to welcome us, we're very informative and Dr Wiswedel even made time for an unscheduled appointment to meet with me. He took more time with me than the specialist in Joburg. I was truly impressed. Cape Fertility is definitely the way to go.

Wilson - off to Roben Is tomorrow. It was fully booked til then. I am not going to POAS. I am terrified to do so and will wait for the BT on Wed. I look forward to your delightful update with your 12 week scan. How wonderful. X

Summershine - thanks Hun. Wow aren't the progesterone injections fun (not). I have the lumpiest behind.

AFM - as above CFC were truly wonderful and I cannot express how generous Dr Wiswedel was to give us his time today. A lovely man indeed.

Unfortunately, my day thereafter went down hill. I am emotional from the drugs and pending BT and DH acted like a real ar$e ended up pulling the car over yelling at me for being 'picky' and us 'not having a very good relationship'. Needless to say I lost it. I got very angry and upset, called him everything under the sun, told him to return to the hotel and have spent the afternoon crying. All not good in trying to keep calmness and distressed. I am so disappointed, i explained before we came that progesterone has a negative effect on me an asked him to promise that he would try to be supportive. Now I am hoping the stress of today hasn't affected my chance.
