Thought I would join you all here, I recognise quite a few names from the +40 IVF thread. Hope everyone is doing okay, I need to go back and catch up on your stories !
Some vital stats for me:
Due 14 August 2012
9th IVF transfer gave us our BFP, two previous mcs
Turning 43 in April, eep !
Had our first OB appointment today and all looks good, the bean was wriggling around like no-one's business which was nice to see. I have the NT scan Thursday, a little bit nervous but taking one day at a time.
Off to catch up on everyone's story ...

Tryingfortwo – hang in there! I remember when we went for our 32 week scan, they couldn’t find half of Annika’s brain – it was terrifying and nerve racking. I think back to that scan, and it still makes me shake. Now I am looking at my daughter, and I can assure you, her brain is here and in tact. Remember - If anything is wrong, it isn’t your fault, how could it be??
Can you call your doctor and tell them it is an emergency to book another scan? or appointment. I hate the thought of you not having answers and being anxious.
Pru40 – It is nice to see you. It has been a while. Loosing 8 kilo’s is impressive. Now that I am no longer pregnant, as soon as I have recovered from surgery, I desperately need to start exercising – I have around 20 kilo’s to loose – gosh. If you have any tips...
Lilwish – so glad to see you back here – as you know! Yay you . I have popped you on the roll call. Is it correct? Congratulations again
Lilbirdy – welcome back also !! Yay so happy to see you here!! I am turning 43 in Oct, also … How did your first OB appointment go? Yes , I was nervous re: NT scan. Unfortunately (for me) it just left me even more anxious. I guess IVF pregnancy is filled with anxiety – I am sure you'll do just fine. One day at a time, is all you can do and a great approach to take. I have popped you on the roll call. Is it correct? Congratulations again

TFT---What a bummer, I think you just have to be thick skin and keep harrassing them until you get an answer. My previous FS had said to me before that the specialist you go to for scans tends to overcall things. I now go to Ultrasound for Women on Wickham Terrace, the four maternal fetal specialists there are all very nice and they're very thorough there too. Maybe it might pay to get a scan off a different place just to confirm things.
Lilwish---Welcome! I know how anxious it can be, I'm still nervous despite being to feel movements daily now. I think most of us took a while to get BFP, and some of us would have gone through at least one MC as well, so it's not unusual to feel extremely anxious, as we know how sad things can be if we have to start all over again.
lilbirdy--- for a smooth sailing NT scan.
AFM---I still have buggered hands, on top of the carpal tunnels on both sides, my left hand has developed de Quervain's tendinitis as well. I've been wearing the splint all day for the past few weeks, I pretty much can't use my left thumb, so I have to do most things with my numbish right hand. LOL! I'm going to get someone to inject the tendon with cortisone tomorrow, I gave it enough chance to improve with rest and ice and it's not working! The legs are much better as the weather is cooler with all the rain. Apart from that I'm a bit worried that I haven't put on any weight for the past 3 weeks, in fact I think I've lost 0.5kg, but I think I'm still growing bigger every week.

Frosty, so sorry to hear yr in so much pain. Is there nothing that can be done to fix it? Nice to hear yr feeling lots of movement now - and the fact yr getting bigger must be good news, despite the weight... I think we tend to watch the scales too much at times.
Pru, gr8 to hear about yr weight loss. What's yr next step?
Lilbirdy, welcome here too - although yr more of a certainty to stay here than me at this stage. Gr8 to hear scan went well. GL for NT
CJM, how are you going?
Mamma, still glowing I see! Thanks for adding me to roll call.
TFT, you poor thing not getting a call back. Hope yr FS has called by now. As others have suggested, I'd def get another scan asap - even if it's thru someone else.
AFM, A little crampy now and then, boobs getting sorer, tired (although could be the new job too, as not used to working these days ). Other than that all good . Think I'll do another poas on thurs (a wk since bfp) and then following thurs, then the one after that is scan. Seems reasonable, doesn't it?
