Default where to look for cheap holidays in vic

Hubby and I are ready for our first family holiday! We use to go twice a year and never worried much about price, however we know need to think twice about spending alot.
Does anyone know cheap holiday destinations, prefer beach. Even if I can get internet sites just somewhere to begin!!
We need it in Vic as we have 6wk old and 19mnth old.

I am a big fan of www.wotif.com.au for cheap accom ideas.
I will also be cheeky and suggest a farmstay holiday in Bright (my in laws own it) which is great for kids - lots of animals etc. If you want the details let me know and I will PM you. I think the rate for a family is $120 a night for a four bedroom house, and everything except food is provided. They also take dogs if you have them.
