My BIL is in the VP. I can't tell you too much, but there is a lot of shift work. I do know he gets a lot of holidays though, about 9 weeks a year. Apparently the first few years you can be stationed anywhere. You can put in preferences, but you're not guaranteed to get them.
I don't know much other than that though, hope someone else has more info!

DH has passed all the testing and is now is on the waitlist .
He was hoping to go to the academy in January but wasn't offered a place.
