Sorry, I've been off bubhub for the past week or so and no idea what's been happening. I'll catch up tomorrow morning but just a quick update, I had my EPU today and got 19 eggs, so very nervous to see how many fertilised tomorrow.
Hope everyone's going well, will do personals tomorrow.

No luck, only 2 of the 19 fertilised so I guess this is it for us now and we will probably have to use an egg donor

Haydos---You'll never know the 2 are the winning ones. I got only 3 fertilised this last time, two made the ET, and one took. Did you do ICSI or HA-ICSI? Did they tell you how many of the eggs were mature? I firmly believe every embryo is a chance, no matter how dodgy it looks on paper.

Star---Yay for your sis, super egg machine! You'd better supply her with lots of sustagen and metamucil. For your scan on Monday. Behave lining, behave!

ktp--- to you for your persistence. I hope your tenacity will finally get you your heart's desire soon. for you little angel baby.

    lily--- for your scan.

    to everyone else.

AFM---A bit more bleeding which scared the pants off me. Passed a humongous clot the size of my palm the evening of the nuchal scan, and bled heavily for 3 hours. So back on bedrest now. Obst wants me to stay on the hormones for now.

Jamison feel free to use EEC. I am over being asked by family whats wrong when clearly its one reason and one reason only "IVF" this journey sucks most of the time and if we want a "hissy fit" I think we are entitled to it lol so far no EEC

Frosty thats very scary lots of bed rest for you how are you going now? hope all is well and what is HA-ICSI?

haydos you are still in this it only takes 1 dont lose hope yet

star like frosty said your sis is a super egg machine! awesome. You definitly have an amazing sister. how did your scan go today hoping your lining is looking fantastic.

Had 1st BT this morning and FET friday so excited.

Loveabug---HA is hyaluronic acid, is a protein present in the testes naturally, researchers have found that mature and DNA superior sperms tend to have this HA receptors on their surfaces compared to immature or sperms with DNA fragmentation. So it is used to "select" the better sperms for ICSI to get a better success rate. The cultures in the petri dishes have HA mixed into it, and sperms that bind to the HA (can be seen under high powered microscope) are then picked for the ICSI, the the inferior sperms are not. It is a fairly new technology available in Australia, QFG only just started doing it this year, SIVF/Genoa and a place in Perth have been doing it a bit longer, I think one of the Adelaide lab is also doing it. Not sure how much it adds to the cost of the ICSI, don't think it's covered by Medicare either.

    Frostysmum - how're you going?
hope you're getting lots of rest. Yes you're right, I wasn't getting the estrogen for the number of follicles I was getting. This time with the Luvaris I was, but in the end it made no difference. I was on 75 then 100, then 112, but got 19 this time on antagonist, and only 2 fertilised.
Ooh ooh I'm excited now, i hadnt heard of HA ICSI. QFG have this?????? Will start researching immediately

Mummywanabee - sorry about your news

How're you going Jamison, how was China?? It's frustrating isn't it. My old FS said I didn't have PCO as I didn't have certain symptoms. I did however have a lot of the symptoms including a ton of eggs (eg 28 on a dose of 150!), so I questioned my new FS and he said there are no hard and fast rules and I'm most likely borderline PCOS.

Star - no they don't, and I admit I thought the same thing. We had the Ivf Australia high resolution microscope one cycle while in Sydney and they struggled to find half a dozen good ones, so we were certain that was the issue but both FS's dismissed that. We also had a Tesa one cycle which gets around the fragmentation issue with no better luck than normal. If that is the issue I have no idea what we'd do about it... He is already on menevit, coQ10 etc.
    How was your lining today??
One of our next options is my sister as an ED, so I'm taking notes as you go through the steps. How does your sister feel about being your doner? I checked with everyone on the weekend and my sister, her DH and my DH are all totally fine with it if that's the way we choose to go, it's just me dragging my feet in case there is another option, so I feel kind of silly being the only one with issues still but it's a big thing to get your head round... Especially since of the 4 of us, I would be the only one without a biological child. I'm sure when the child was born there would be no issues, it's just getting my head round it at this stage. All the best, this is your cycle!!!!

Lilybaby - CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good luck for your scan today

Lilbirdy - how's the TWW going?

AFM - I had a day 3 transfer today, although as they're slow as per usual I wanted to wait until Wed to see if they stopped all together but FS wouldn't let me Had a 2 cell and a 5 cell without fragmentation transfered but not holding out much hope, partially for self-preservation. Might do a natural cycle next, or see Warren De A who I've heard is good for last resort people like me, or Frostys new secret weapon HA ICSI that im going to research, or go to an ED... Decisions, decisions.

Thanks Loveabug, Frosty, Rice and everyone, hope you're all doing well x

Haydos---5 cell is OK. You'll never know, every transfer is a chance. This is a chance game remember? I'm really no good with antagonist cycle either, many eggs but mostly immature, plus not many good sperms even with TESA and ICSI. I've never tried PICSI or HA_ICSI, Wazza thinks even the slow few sperms were good enough, he always thought my scrambled eggs were the main problem, but they all add up I suppose. If you haven't already done so, have a good look at all the details of your previous cycles, chart them on an excel table. Types of cycle, dose of FSH, duration of stim, Eggs collected, maturity no, fertilisation no, emrbyos no and quality, no of embryos transferred, no of embryos frozen. You can then see if there is an obvious pattern as to what works best/worse for you. I've found it extremely useful, esp in persuading the FS when strategising my next cycle.

AFM---I'm still at home on "bedrest", still bleeding and hoping it'll stop soon. Seeing the obst for another scan tomorrow.
