    Hi Everyone,

Sorry it has been a while since I posted - I have been reading along...
I am going to be a little bit self-indulgent with this post - sorry in advance!!

I didn't say anything to begin with but I have been quitting smoking.
    I didn't include that because:
    A) it is embarrassing to admit in this day and age I still smoke
    B) I was scared I would fail
    C) it is quite irrelevant to this thread and
    D) because I felt i had no right to complain about infertility when I was engaging in behaviour that doesn't help the situation at all!!

However, I have now quit - 10 days ago!! I am really proud to have done this for myself and for my future baby.

I got all my blood results today and I have all the immunities I require and now I am smoke free, I can start treatment immediately! Well when I see my FS in 2 weeks.

Anyhow... I hope everyone else is doing well and feeling happy this week!! Sorry again about the selfishness of this post!

    Hi All,

Just joined as you all seem to be so supportive and helpful. And lets face it nothing can compare to talking to other women going through the same stuff.

Husband and I have been TTC for around 6 months now. Hubby had cancer a year and a half ago so got official news a few months ago that he is fertile which was great as we were a bit worried. He had intense chemo and is now in remission!
Hubby is 38 I am 27. Have never though getting pregnant would be difficult for me...so naieve.
I have had digestion problems for about 6 years now. Went and saw a new gastroentolgist about 3 months ago after passing a lot of blood and wanting a diagnosis that was a bit clearer than 'IBS"..had a buch of tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc. etc.
Referred me to a gyno after suspecting it was endometriosis..saw him a bit more than a month ago. He was going overseas for month long holiday after I saw him but instructed me to get a whole bunch of bloods done, internal ultrasound, tubal patency etc.
During internal ultrasound they found 26 ovarian cysts on my left ovary and 14 on my right. Have had strong pain on my left hand side for years now

They couldnt see endo but they suspect it is amongst my bowl so were not expecting to see much. They did not expect to find the PCOS.

A week after this test I went to emergency after waking up with sever pain 10/10! Stayed overnight, originally suspected eptopic pregnancy, ruptured ovarian cyst or appedicitis. Turned out to be ruptured ovarian cyst.

Waiting for gyno to get back to me on laproscopy details now. Husband had to call as they were not getting back to me.
Not very fond of the specialist. During first appt he ended cosultation with telling me he thought I had some psychiatric problems as I was 'high energy' ?! Referred me to his friend psychiatrist and said that I must see him. I am the least hyperactive person I know! I may have spoken a little quickly cos I was nervous and I had never seen a male gyno before. Also had only seen a female gyno once before so was very unaware. Saw shrink and he was suprised to see I am fine.

Anyway, keen to hear from others who are going throug above/have gone through this. I dont really know what to expect next and I am thinking that I should change gynos but I dont want to have to wait months to get into someone else...

Nando - congratulations on quitting smoking! I quit about 4 months ago for good. Have been on and off for a few years. Disgusting habit but very hard to quit so we should be proud that we have done so

    Default Also new

    Hi,

I've just joined up so I could join this thread... it's great to find somewhere where people understand what I've been going through.

My DH and I have been TTC for 1 year. During that year we discovered that I have PCOS and my husband has "near critical" low levels from his sperm tests. We're both 28.

We desperately want to have a baby. Just one would be a blessing for us! For the past 4 months we've been going to a naturopath and she has been my life saver. She's the only one who thought to look at the cause of the problems and wants to fix it, instead of pumping me with drugs. Not that I have anything against medication but it just wasn't right for me.

I agree with the ladies that spoke about seeing pregnant women all around. Each time a friend has a baby I am happy for them but I also have a little cry over what I feel I'm missing out on.

It's great to read how others are managing because I don't know anyone with PCOS.

Truebeliever - good luck. I hope you have success soon

Just thought I would pop in and let you know that I was due to test today but there is not a HPT in sight! So I will pick one up tomorrow and test sometime Thursday or Friday. I am currently CD27 but not really knowing when I O I am just going to have to think positive and pray that we caught that egg.

hunny, it sounds like you have been through the wars!!! i definately recommend changin gynos. If u are not comfortable with your dr, then it just makes it even harder on you. Which Dr was it, if u dont mind my asking? I left my gyno for similar behaviour. He would charge me hundreds of dollars for 5 min chats and then told me my 2 angel babies were in my head!!! found a new doc, dr miller, and he is wonderful so far.

well girlies, tonight for me is first night of no pill. countdown is on to October when we can start trying. Pls cross all fingers, toes and eyes that everything stays normal to avoid having to go back on the metformin!!!

KNTTC - Welcome and well done also on the quit! It sounds like you guys have been through so much already!! I'd recommend a change of specialist! It may take a while to get in to see someone (not sure where you are) but your current ones are taking their time getting your results back, sending you to pointless shrink appointments etc. I hope you find someone who takes the time to understand your situation

worknhard - welcome also!! how is your natropath going? have they been able to get you regular? Can you tell if you are ovulating? I hope it works out for you

Kimnus - GOOD LUCK!!!!! Let us know when you have tested - will have fingers crossed for a big fat positive for you!

Truebeliever - how come you are waiting til October to start trying? I've not been on pill, so sorry if being naive, but if you've come off does that not mean you are already trying (or at least not preventing)? Hope everything stays normal for you!!!

My FS appointment is on Monday - eeep!! I hope he will give us drugs straightaway and not make us wait for a million more tests. What is normal? I mean if they have identified that I have PCOS and don't O, will they give me clomid to try ... or will they first check hubby's sperm, my tubes etc to ensure there isn't even more problems?? And, if you do have to go for a million tests, do you have to wait and pay heaps for another consult to get the results?

I am so impatient now!! I keep seeing things like hubby's work is having a family day in october, or friends getting married in february and thinking "will i be pregnant for that event" and in my head I'm there looking radiant in some designer maternity dress with my belly being the only thing that gained any weight...

we have to wait till october cause i had some vaccinations done, and you have to wait 3 months before u can start. my gyno is getting me off the pill now so we can track my body to make sure i dont go back to being irregular and keep on a steady path. He says its better to test now before we're ready, that way if all's not working he can put me on the right stuff to get me ready.

    Hi everyone.

Sorry for the long time between posts but there hasn't been much happening lately.
    Welcome to the newbies!!

AFM: I've been on metformin for just over 2 months and AF still remains elusive.

I have an appointment with the gynaecologist on the 2nd of September. She will give us the SA results ( one of us is fertile) and I'm going to ask her for provera so that AF will join the party and I can start my first round of clomid (YAY!!)

I start on 50mg so I'm hoping against the odds that will be enough for me. Maybe even more than enough cos I would be quite happy with twins

Nando- I don't 'O' either. The doc has said nothing so far about checking my tubes but she has prescribed clomid so I'm thinking that is the first step. I'm guessing if you start Oing on it but don't become pregnant, they will check your tubes then. They are also checking DH's swimmers.

for all and good luck everyone!!

    Default Straight In

So... I am starting clomid today!!!!
For anyone who has read my posts, you'll note that today was my visit to the FS.
Strangley enough, my cycle was only 33 days last month and today is day 5, which means... I start clomid today!!!
Was not prepared for it to happen this quickly!!! But option was start today or wait for next AF who might not show for another 8 weeks!
    Eeeeep!!

Sorry for the manic post above - I was just expecting it to take a lot longer to actually get to this point... and feeling very anxious/ excited right now

FS has also ordered a SA for DH. He is doing this next monday, but because he can't ..... for 2 days prior means no b'day sex for me .

So starting 50mg today and having this cycle monitored via bloods and scans. First BT is on Sunday and damn early so no sleep in on my b'day either .

Anyway - I hope everyone else is going ok and staying positive
