    Default Gifts for kids that aren't toys

    suggestions? maybe we can make a list up for those interested in trying something different this year!

    Musical instruments (real ones)
    Bedding/curtains/bedroom furniture
    Books
    Membership to the zoo, etc
    - zoo explorer kit, bag with drawing supplies, camera, binoculars.
    pets
    sports equipment
    stories on CD
    if they have a favourite fruit or veg, a seedling of their own to grow (then they can eat the produce of course!)
    -gardening tools
    drawing equipment
    fishing rod
    bug catching kit
    worm/ant farm
    boardgames
    telescope
    science kit
    magician kit
    one off donation
    Dress up supplies.
    Apron, kid size utensils and shape cutters
    A "trip" somewhere - like bowling, a theme park, small holiday etc.
    A keepsake - coin collecting, stamp collecting etc
    A CD player
    A diary/journal
    movie tickets

    Do you count music instruments as toys?

    DD has a gutiar&keyboard. Today I got her a flute (can't think of the name, it's the plastic kids type) and maraccers.

    Crayons.
    Clothes.

    Guess it depends on the age.
