Default Baby girl has lump on perineum?

    Sorry if this is TMI!

A few days ago I noticed 7mth old DD's perineum "sticking out" a bit more than usual, but it didn't look worrying so I just dismissed it. Last 2 days hubby has been looking after her, changing nappies etc and when I changed her nappy this morning I was taken aback by how much more it was sticking out. It's kind of a longish lump from her vagina right to her anus - a little bit of overhang, and kinda pointy at the top, like a pyramid. It's doesn't look red or inflamed, just normal skin colour, and is slightly hard at the top. It doesn't seem to hurt her when I wipe her down (she's been crying during changes lately but seems to be more because she doesn't want to be changed, wants to roll away instead)

DD hasn't really had constipation, for the last couple weeks she's had really yellow, watery and mucousy poo which I was told was coz she's teething. She's had thicker, more formed poop the last 2-3 days, but not hard (it's still squishy like playdoh). She strains when she poops, but she's always done that, even when her poop is soft.

My mum thinks it's nothing to worry about as it doesn't seem to hurt bub.. but it's my first child so of course I'm worried. Tried Dr Google but nothing really helpful...

Any thoughts what this lump could be?

Hi I have no idea what the lump might be but I really think it would warrant a trip to the doctor or your pead, sometimes its better to be safe than sorry.

Hope you find out what it is

My DD 9months old has the same thing. The doctor said its because of the constipation she has been struggling with and prescribed lactulose which has softned her stool. I was afraid it might be haemmorhoids but it is not. I found on google the name might be"Perineal pyramidal protrusion" also seen images there and looks exactly like it. Hope it goes away as it has traumatized...it has been hard to let me clean her as it hurts her....
