Default very sore back and hip..worry or not?

    hi
my right hand side of my back and my hip are really painful at the moment. im not sure if i slept wrong or what. ive tried having a hot shower to get the muscles to relax but they wont.

should i be worried? i havent had any bleeding (spotting) or tummy cramps unless i get up too quick but that could just be my hip hurting

    thanks in advance

When you are pregnant, everything is moving around, the hormones make everything a little more flexible to accommodate. Sometimes that means that you will be prone to back and pelvic pain as your muscles relax.

If I were you, I would just take it really easy and if it continues, see a physio who specialises in pregnancy concerns. I ended up with a support wrap with my DD as my hips were just so painful. It didn't help that I was still wearing high heels for work (and working full time).

Take care and look after yourself. Maybe bubby is just suggesting that you slow down a little :-)

I am not a dr but at 20 weeks it can be just the stretchy joys of pregnancy. If it feels like muscles and it is on one side and not like a regular contraction I would say you are ok. The hormones easily can relax muscles which can be painful if you have over done it. Since you have a scan on Monday I would just question it then. Unless of course it is really worrying you to just give your carer a call for peace of mind. If you were heaps earlier in your pregnancy my thoughts would be different.
    Hope you feel better x

Are you in Queensland? If so don't forget you can phone the 13health number for free and speak to a registered nurse about it. They can tell you if they feel you should see a doctor.
