I am overweight as well and my doc told me to keep trying to loose weight while on the tablets. Like you everything I have read points to lower success rates if you are overweight. I am on serophene and have had 2 rounds worth so far. First one didn't work at all (still didn't ovulate) and just found out the I haven't ovulated again with this round although I have been sent for another blood test to make sure I didn't ovulate late. First time I was on 50mg and second 100mg. Have been told that after 3rd round I will have to go to hormone injections which sound scary to me.
Don't give up. All I've ever wanted was to be a mum and a teacher and I've achieved the second half of my dream and not planning on giving up on the first half.
Let us know how the blood test goes. Good luck!!

Funky that is so great you have all those follies!!! I really hope this will be your month!
To Nat & Greeneyes, I am so sorry for your rough couple of days. Hopefully the bad news is shortlived.
Kelijh, hi & fingers crossed for blood test!
Well I have a question for everyone. Thismorning I did two ovulation tests, one Seratec that the fertility clinic gave me and one first response. I have been doing the seratec ones for 5 days now and they have all been very very negative. Today (day 16) was no different. But the first response test was POSTIVE???? It was a strong positive so I am not sure which test was wrong. The doctor did tell me originally because I have Polycystic ovaries that the tests might not work for me, but I was unable to talk to my doctor today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

OMG funky thats AWESOME so happy for you, i knew you wernt out this month.
I caved in and used up my half packet of clomid, so im taking a dose of 50mg (normally 150mg) I know its against my fs advice, but i feel ready. Although today im home from school because my atheritis has flared up really bad, so ive been at the docs having all blood test as my doc seems to think it my be some kind of immune disorder linking my joint pain which ive has since i was 12 to infertility and miscarriage......so i think i may have to quit my hair thingy as my hands and wrists wont be able to cope.
So its just another kick in the balls, but hopefully i might O soon. Currently cd8 and trying to look on the bright side of life......funkys quote always help with this so thank you.

Wicked - hope the sneaky clomid taking works for you, I did 3 rounds before I officially got a script from GYN (got some from a fellow BH'r)!
Kellijh - I was same weight as you when I started on clomid have lost about 6kg while on it, and my GYN couldn't care less other than say 'try loose some if you can, it may help' but all 3 GYN's at clinic have been the same.
I was 80kg when fell Pg with first DS 110 with 2nd DS, my weight IMO is no more of a problem than my having PCOS, yeah it makes it harder sometimes but doesn't make it impossible.

Sorry I haven't been around lately. Life is extremely hectic!
Welcome to all the new faces, sorry you're here and hope your stay is short.
To those overweight, I am too. Not proud but it is what it is. Of course being overweight is not a positive in the ttc journey but doesn't mean we don't deserve the same treatment as everyone else. My FS doesn't consider it a problem just a great challenge we take together. DD1 I ended up on injections and then it was still a drawn out journey but don't let anyone tell you its impossible cos of your weight. My sister had a FS also for pcos, she was on clomid for a while unsuccessfully, had a early m/c she didn't know she was pg. The FS then told her she would never have a baby cos she was fat nsd he wouldn't see her again till she was a healthy bmi!!!! She went to a new FS(my FS) and he said I'm not interested in the past or what other docs have done. He did one lot of bloods and said to her I'll have you pg within 12mths.....needless to say that just prior to that anniversary coming up she fell pg with my nephew.......
Funky, well done on the multiple follies!!!!!!hope you caught one of them...or two if thats what you want.
Wicked, hope the low dose is enough to get you going. good luck.
Ended up driving to Sydney over Vic's long weekend, my nanna is doing well. Glad we went. Started doing opk's while we were away, on the drive home Mon 14th had 2/3rds pos but never got full pos. so figured my body tried but didn't get there.
Had bloods done 21st results received 23rd were not clear FS reckons only just O when bloods done.....prob is we only dtd on 18th! Felt real full in the belly on 22nd. I had given up thinking it was too late anyway. DH went interstate for work so we were unable to keep going anyway.
So Fast forward to this monday had bloods again, results show I did indeed O....woo hoo!!!!!!!FS reckons prob O Sunday 20th so at least BD was only a couple of days before. Anyway after all that blah blah, reckon AF should be due by 5th at the latest.
Editing to add today at possibly 8-10 dpo that I had around 2hrs of definite AF cramping.........could I be so hopeful to think implantation?
Need to go catch up on all the goss. Will do personals when up to speed.

Thanx nat, i kinda felt bad for taking it like i was sneaking around or something.
Greeneyes...the only symptoms from the clomid are.....its a long list.....nah not really. I do get really snappy, short tempered, quickly anoyed, tired, do not want my partner near me at all, then i just want a cuddle, things arnt to bad on the low dose. I am quite emotional this time but that could be due to other things ie crappy joints! Oh and i do get really strong o pain.
The doc im seeing for this, is testing for everything. She did mention the immune thingy and how it can also cause miscarriage, so im keen to see her again for my results and any info she has on this.
Clap...hope the provera kicks in soon and then your on your way, wohoo
