Default What do 7 year olds wear to a funeral?

Like it says, what should I dress my 7 year old daughter in for her great grandmother's funeral?
I also have a 10 year old who is wearing a formal shirt and pants that he wore to his aunt's wedding, and a 12 week old baby who I'll dress nicely but my middle child I'm at a loss with.
My father always had a "thing" about kids not wearing black so I'm confused as to what to dress my daughter in.
    Any advice?

My Pop actually had all his last wishes written down in a book and one of his big points was that he didn't want the kids dressed in dark colours. Do you know your grandmother's favourite colour?? Or an outfit that she would have loved??

Good idea.... she probably wouldn't have wanted her great grandkids in dark colours. Can't think of a favorite colour but it's something to think about, thanks

I think weaing balck to a funeral is a thing of the past to be honest for both adults and children (if you want to that is what you feel comfortable in no worries though). I would just dress her in a pretty dress, possibly even a party dress. Sorry for you loss.

I wore a Dress I had worn to a wedding a few months before, A polka Dot one even.

My father always thought his girls looked gorgeous in Polka dot's so I wore a Polka dot dress to his funeral. All my family thought it was a nice gesture.

would it be too hard to find like a deep/medium purple dress or something?

for us it depends on the passing. my grandmother passed and we were all very upset, but felt at peace with it, because she was so ill, my son wore some dark jeans and a royal blue shirt.

where as when my bil passed away tragically and suddenly...we were all very very heartbroken my boy wore a charcoal grey shirt with black jeans.

i'm sorry for your loss *hugs*
