Lissa- HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you!!!! I knew you’d be next! Keep us updated!
Windupbird- How's it all going? When do you get to see bub for the first time?
Lakshmi- Congratulations to you too.....you ladies give us all hope!
Sammy – Yay for your good HSG result! What did you think of the procedure?! I had that done at the end of last year and....yeah, wasn’t a huge fan. I hadn’t even been to a male Doctor for a pap smear before this whole TTC drama and there I was, laying on my back, half naked with my legs off in opposite directions on a bench in a room full of people walking around talking about their upcoming work Christmas party!!! Stand-able...but a bit painful too huh?! I got good results also so....it was worth it I guess! Good luck with the injections!
Zoem- Sorry about your AF arrival but, your so right, at least you know that your body responds to Clomid right? LOVED your forwarded post about the dreaded TWW....I can SO relate!!! Goodluck with this next cycle, it’s so your turn.
Ellymore – Hi! I ovulated with my first round of Clomid (confirmed by an U/S) and I had all the symptoms.....very sore/achy boobs, stomach pains and lots of EWCM. The following three rounds I didn’t ovulate with Clomid and I also didn’t get any of those symptoms again. I’d highly recommend to anyone on Clomid to either get an ovulation-blood test or an U/S for EVERY cycle that your on it so that your doctor can make an informed decision as to weather you need to go up in dosage or not. Just so that you don’t waste your time (and possibly the thickness of your lining) as there is usually a limited amount of rounds your doctor will let you try Clomid. All the very best of luck with this cycle!!!
Zammy - All the best for you appt on Monday! I’ve experienced a really weird light AF like that once since I’ve been TTC (when I wasn’t on any meds tho) and then the following one was gross and lumpy. See what your doctor says but, I put it down to my PCOS trying to confuse me!
Kelli- Hello! How did you go??? I’m hoping you got some (positive) answers? Fingers crossed for you!!!
Eliza – Wow, you’ve been through ALOT in the past few months huh?! Can’t say I’ve heard of anyone else starting on 25mg but, I’m sure you doctor has done that for a reason. The ‘multiple’ risk should be monitored with either blood tests or an U/S so that your doctor can tell you weather it’s safe to DTD that cycle or not. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that ovarian drilling is supposed to really help your chances of getting UTD so, goodluck to you!!!
AFM- Well I’ve had a nice little break from BH and all things “TTC” which has done me the world of good as I’m back and ready to get stuck into this next faze of finally starting a family with my hunk of DH . AF tried to torcher me by making me wait until DAY 46!!!! But finally made an appearance and I’m now on CD 5 of my first FSH-injecting cycle which I started on CD 2. Going for a blood test on Wed 20th to see if it looks like I’m going to ovulate or not. Apparently even if it doesn’t look like anything is going to happen, the cycle can still be salvegable by upping my dosage. If I overstimulate then, it’s $1000 down the drain. I’m still learning as I go but, as far as I understand, when my hormone levels get to a certain point, I get a trigger injection to make me ovulate and then go for an U/s to ward off the “Octo-mom” possibility and then my DH produces the goods and I go in a couple of hours later for my first IUI. Had a nightmare about them putting in the wrong sperm and so naturally....I’ve been FREAKING out about even the thought of it ever since! Crazy huh. Well...I’m hoping this works or else it’s on to IVF for us.

Ladydee - did you get periods even though clomid wasn't working for you anymore? I got AF and temps had gone up then down beforehand, but you're right, BT would be a good idea. I sent my specialist a fax updating him re: dates I took clomid, AF dates etc partly to let him know what is going on, and partly to remind him I still exist! His instructions were pretty much to try for a few months with clomid but he didn't make another appt for me so I don't know if he will organise BTs . Which is one of the reasons I am really sticking with taking my temps every morning, I want to make sure I really am ovulating!
Lakshmi - awesomeness!
Good luck to all you ladies, let's hope April is our month!

Hey Ellymoe - My cycles before Clomid were anywhere from 25 to 65 days long. I started by taking Provera to bring on AF. I then took 50mg/day from CD 2 for five days for my first clomid cycle. Had a CD 12 U/S which confirmed I had grown a 17mm Follicle! = BFN. This was a 28 day cycle.
Second 50mg cycle, didn't get an ultrasound because day 12 fell during xmas break = BFN. This was a 32 day cycle.
Third 50mg cycle, U/S on CD 12 showed I hadn't grown a dominant follicle so there was no use in even trying....we did anyway = BFN. This was a 38 day cycle.
Fourth cycle my FS tried doubling my dose to 100mg, CD 12 U/S showed again that I hadn't grown a dominant follicle so, no posibility of O'ing. This was a 46 day cycle.
I really really regret not getting an U/S for my second cycle as it would've shown that I didn't grow a dominant follie and I could've started on 100mg for my third cycle and even tried going up to 150mg on my fourth if it resulted in a BFN. After talking to my FS and weighing up the risks, DH and I decided not to try anymore cycles on clomid as my CM was being affected and my lining wasn't growing to the thickness my FS would've liked by day 12 in my cycles.
You could totally get a GP to request the blood tests if it's something you think you may want to do. You can get a copy of the results sent to your F/S so he/she keeps up to date on what's going on with you. I even got my GP to send me to an XRay company for my CD12 U/S when my FS was on holidays!
So yeah, I did get AF on my own for all 4 clomid cycles but the cycles got longer and longer. U/S's are a good idea to get in my opinion as not only do you have proof that you are actually going to ovulate, you also know if your risking having twins....or quins (!) and your FS or Sonographer can also measure your endo-lining at the same time to make sure the clomid isn't affecting the thickness which can be a side affect from long-term clomid use. I know Dr's can tell if your likely to O with a blood test also and I'm pretty sure they can even tell if there is a risk or multiples depending on your blood results too.
DON'T lose hope from my Clomid experience tho, LOTS of women have had great success on clomid, specially PCOS-ladies. I've been on this thread for a while now and there have been quite a few BFP's even on here. We're all different and have just got to find what works for each of us.

gah, I might go and see my GP for BT then! Is it best to do after you think you have O'd? I'm surprised my FS didn't want to monitor me after hearing your story This would be my 2nd round using clomid and I don't want to waste cycles! He did seem very enthusiastic about me going through IVF though

Zammy - Good luck with your next FS appointment. Hopefully you can get started again asap.
Ladydee _ Welcome back hun. I did post to you in another thread as well. The procedure was interesting to say the least..... I'm just not very good with the speculum bit. I was too busy concentrating on that then worrying about the cramping. As you said it was bear able but not something I want to do anytime soon. The Dr that did mine was really nice and she explained alot to me. Apparently the start of that procedure is similar to when you do IVF and they put the eggs back in. I'm glad you got good results too. Hopefully we get our BFP together like Baileysmum and happywife did.
AFM: I'm on CD 19 today and day 15 on the injections. Luckily for me I don't have a 28 day cycle so we can drag this out a little longer. So far scans have been going ok. I've had lot's of little follicles but nothing dominant yet so they have increased my dosage. I go back on Thursday for another scan so my little follies have grown and I have some dominant ones in there.

I'm brand new on here (any forum really). Need some advice - been ttc since Jan 11 and I know that's not a long time for pcos sufferers, but was wondering how long do you wait until ask doc for next step?
My pcos symptoms all came back in Nov last year when went off pill.
I've started seeing a natropath and have just this weekend changed diet, started taking her tonic. Hopefully will lose some weight (think i need to lose about 5 - 8kgs). Going to start cm checking and temp checking as well.
It's great to read all your comments - makes me feel less alone in it all. We haven't told anyone we're ttc so can't talk to anyone. Hubby tries, but doesn't understand completely.
