I am just wondering if because the stats are reported the FS's can get a little impatient and just want to see results fast and thats why my FS has proceeded so quickly (not that I mind). He did mention that for now we are trying to see what works and that he wanted to see Follies at 16-18mm on CD 12, but from what all the other PCOS women seem to experience we have slow growing Follies.
I am not going to go onto IUI this cycle at all though because I think with that type of growth we should just be dtd and then if after 3 rounds it doesnt work then I will go to IUI. I dont want to rush things and I am lucky to be only 26 and always said by 30 would be nice to have had one. I have been reading alot of forums, and visiting Dr. Google and I think I am responding nicely to the treatments. Although just like the clomid I have no side effects so far on the puregon (unless this full feeling/bloaty feeling is side effects but I think its just what I am eating) and wonder if the puregon is working.
Congrats to you also for your follie and also your lining. All my for you. Would be amazingly wonderful for your 1st FSH cycle to work!
AFM - If my appointment on monday goes well and I get a trigger shot then, I should O a few days after you. I dont know when the last time I O'd was so who knows what its going to feel like and heres to hoping it works.
Taken my fourth Puregon injection today and it is going well - not a single bruise so far. I am feeling a little bloated but think thats just because my diet has been so so poor of late because we have moved house and had no power etc etc but I am getting back on track now so should hopefully feel better soon.

yay Violethope!!! they all sound like very positive signs - I'll keep my for you!
I've also had more CM than usual since starting the gonal-f and it's a little egg white'ish I think - but is again this morning tinged pink..... nothing heavier, so I think I'll just leave it and mention it to the FS when I go for my scan on Tuesday.
TeeTee - your DH caught off-guard is so funny it's about time the blokes had a bit of a "going over", as we cop the lions share of the physical 'inspection' stuff normally!
Littlejoeyg - I think we're going to do the same thing as you, maybe 3 cycles of FSH and timed DTD. Then if that's not working we'll give the IUI a go. Nice to have someone to cycle along with in this needling process sending your way!
AFM, last night was 2nd injection, tried to do it myself still couldn't bring myself to stick a needle in my tummy this time I held the needle, but DH had to push my hand, to make me stick myself - again, it did not hurt. I know this intellectually, but I am really struggling with the idea of self inflicted pain (even though it doesnt hurt) - to get an idea of how hopeless I am, I can't even rip a bandaid off myself in one quick rip
Otherwise, just plodding along hoping for some evidence of follie growth at my scan on Tuesday

Don't worry miggins I was exactly the same. I have a big needle phobia. For the first couple of weeks DH had to do it and then one night he was out and I wanted to go to bed and I had to do it myself. After that I actually preferred to do it myself rather than have DH do it. The pregnyl shots were a different story..... DH had to do them and he also does my clexane shots now as they hurt. Good luck

Mrs Pump – A belated CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Yay! Keep us updated with all things “baby-pump!”
Miggins – So sorry Clomid didn’t work for you. Your FS sounds like he knows his stuff though....I soooo wish mine moved me onto FSH earlier instead of wasting 6 months of my TTC journey. I think if the only problem you have is not O’ing and your DH is firing soldiers, DTD while on FSH should be fine. My DH’s sperm was in all the normal ranges but his Morph levels were getting close to being out of range so that’s what made us decide on IUI while also DTD naturally. TMI warning but.... after a year and a half of TTC and DTD almost every second day, things were getting a tad mechanical but, O day of our BFP cycle we put in a bit of an extra effort and well.....had the most fun we’d had in a while!!! So, we like to think we made it happen the natural way (well, with a little help from the FSH injections). If you haven’t realized already, you’ll be closely monitored throughout your FSH cycle so, if there is going to be a chance of multiples....it will only be because you have agreed to it before going ahead and dtd. You scan will tell you exactly how many dominant follies you have a chance of O’ing from. My FS said he would cancel a cycle if there was any more than 3 dominant follicles. Good luck!
Little Joey – I got that bloaty feeling too and I definitely put it down to your body doing exactly what it should and growing you a nice big follie...or two! Not to mention all of that great lining for bub to snuggle into too. All the very best of luck to you!
Ellymoe – How did your new FS appt go? What’s the next plan of action? Does he/she seem better than your last FS? Did you let them know how you weren’t happy with being left on your own?? Hope the new one was great and has lifted your spirits up again and is more willing to support you the whole way to your very own BFP. FS’s should do waaaay more than just be prescription-fillers!!!
Violethope – OMG! Sooo happy to read about your nice big follie and great lining too! Huge fingers crossed that this is it for you! When do you get to HPT? OOoodles of the very best of eggie-catching luck for you!!!
Mrs JD – Good luck that this is your time to get that magic BFP!
Tee Tee – Next appt in 10 weeks?!!! I’m HUGELY against not being monitored but, I won’t bore you with a big earful from me. I really really hope you get your BFP straight away so that it doesn’t matter. OMG, that was soooo awesome about your DH being surprised with a drop-n-grope! ha ha ha....your poor hubby, with all us girls rubbing our hands and laughing evil-y...hee hee.
Purple Tulip – Really hope to see you get your good news very very soon!
Have I missed anyone??? Bucket-loads of baby-dust to you all....it WILL happen for you!!!
DH and I tried 3 months of TTC on our own, 7 months with a Fertility Naturopath, 5 months on Clomid and 2 cycles on FSH with IUI before getting our very first BFP. SOOOO many moments of truly believing it would never happen for us but then...unbelievably....it just did!
AFM – 9 weeks and two days today! STILL really really can’t believe it sometimes! Every Friday I reach another week so, as I’m counting down from Friday to Friday....the weeks seem to be flying by so fast. I’m booked into my 12 week scan on our 5 year wedding anniversary.....Friday 19th August. Hey, did I read someone on here is getting married on the same day?! Great choice! lol. And we have already organised a big family “anniversary party” for the 20th August which is really a big “baby-announcement” party....soooo excited! Whenever I was feeling really really low during my TTC time and feeling a little “F-you world, you wanna keep me barren? FINE! I’ll just go and become a traveller and forget all about babies!!!” ...... so I would jump on Youtube and laugh/cry along with all the “announcement” videos. So to be able to actually be in the position to do my own announcement, it really is a dream come true! M/S hasn’t been to bad....I’ve only thrown up about 5 times. It feels like a mixture between the motion-sickness I get when I try to read in a moving car and how you feel when you’ve left yourself go beyond hunger to the sick-feeling. The main thing I’ve been feeling is TIRED...and EXHAUSTED! I think feeling tired is supposedly normal in early pregnancy but I wonder if I’m getting it so bad as usually as soon as I get car sick, I fall asleep during long road trips so, maybe that’s my body’s way of trying to make me feel better?
There seems to be lots of you doing FSH injections at the moment....I just wanted to say, HOPEFULLY you all get your BFP’s first go like Sammy did but, if you don’t happen to catch the egg first go, please don’t give-up hope! Sometimes your Fertility Clinic may just have to tweak you dosage slightly to get the perfect dose for you and your body....it didn’t work for me first go but, only the slightest change in my dose made ALL the difference and lead to my very own magical BFP. As far as I learnt along the way, your aiming for a blood Oestrogen result of approx 1000 per follicle, a lining of over 7.5mm and a follicle size over 16/17mm. These were my two cycles of Oestrogen blood tests......HUGE difference with the slightly higher dose that my body must of needed.....
1st IUI with FSH injections........
FSH dose of 37.5/day
20/4 – CD10 – Oest = 209
23/4 – CD13 – Oest = 271
25/4 – CD15 – Oest = 298
27/4 – CD17 – Oest = 235
28/4 – CD18 – Oest = 205 (2 x 10mm follies, lining=7.5mm)
FS upped my FSH dose to 50/day
2/5 – CD22 – Oest = 326
3/5 – CD23 – Oest = 470
5/5 – CD25 – Oest = 622 1 x 11mm follie & 1 x 13mm follie
7/5 – CD27 – Oest = 1600
8/5 – CD28 = trigger injection at 7am
9th May – CD29 = IUI day
24th May=BFN (45 day cycle)
2nd IUI with FSH injections...........
FSH dose of 50/day
3/6 – CD9 - Oest=283 (1x11mm follie, 1x12mm follie, lining=6.5mm)
6/6 - CD12 - Oest=481
7/6 - CD13 - Oest=634
8/6 - CD14 - Oest=986
9th June - CD15 - Oest=1416 (1x21mm follie, lining 13mm...other follie stopped growing). Had trigger injection at about 9:30am.
10th June – CD16 = IUI day!
24th June=BFP!!! (30 day cycle)

Sammy, Lissa, Waiting and Windupbird....how are all you lovely ladies and your little bumps coming along??? I think about you all all the time and miss regularly chatting to you....who all gave me SO much support over the months!
Windup - A girl!!! HUGE congrats!!! A mini-Wind-up! How did you enjoy your 20 week scan?! My sister (who is due Nov 27th) had her scan late as her hubby is in the Airforce and had to be overseas for a couple of months, just had her scan at 22 weeks and emailed me the pics. SO spooky! Her little one looks EXACTLY like her! (yay for the stronger geans! lol). How about yours....can you see any similarities between either of you? When did you start noticing a bump?
Sammy - any "bump" news to report yet?? In the last couple of days I'm feeling a little thicker around the middle but, I think it may just be poo.....lol.....damn-you constipation!!! Any MS for you??

Miggins - I will be learning the joys of needles soon . DH is going to do them for me until I can summon the courage to do them myself (if that ever happens!)
Ladydee - what a lovely idea, a baby announcement party . I'd totally do that except it's so hard to organise my family!
AFM: FS appt was very good, very happy with her. It was very relaxed and she even chowed down on a sandwich while we were with her because she was too busy to go out for lunch ! She asked me after getting details "what do you want to do?" I just said "whatever will work". She told me IVF will give me the best chance, as my ovaries are sitting so close together she seemed to wonder if eggs were even getting to the tubes properly. She also assured me that she monitors clients very closely so I won't have the same experience I had with the last FS. She also didn't dismiss the shoulder pain I get every month and said my endometriosis may be growing on my diaphram and causing the pain I get with AF, it shouldn't affect my fertility and pregnancy would actually help treat it. She said the appt was more like 2 in 1 as we knew what we wanted. She asked me where I was in my cycle (AF started today), so she took blood from both me and DH, gave me the pill to take from CD4-17, and a nasal spray to start on CD16, before having blood taken again. I have to call them tomorrow to tell them that AF did fall on the day I gave her and I am going to be guided every step. I start injections some time after using the nasal spray and she even wrote down projected dates for different procedures. Straight into action, just the way I wanted but didn't think would happen!

Thanks LadyDee, and yay for your BFP!!!
Elly - welcome aboard the needle express! seriously though, good luck with it and it is easier to start with having DH do the injection and just look the other way, most likely you will hardly feel anything. Today was my 5th injection and I've now been doing it myself for the last couple of days (still have a slight mental block when it comes crunch time, but) I'm managing fine and it doesn't hurt . I go for my scan on Tuesday - so we'll see if this first week of injections has done anything
Good luck to you - let me know how you go!

Just joined as you all seem to be so supportive and helpful. And lets face it nothing can compare to talking to other women going through the same stuff.
Husband and I have been TTC for around 6 months now. Hubby had cancer a year and a half ago so got official news a few months ago that he is fertile which was great as we were a bit worried. He had intense chemo and is now in remission!
Hubby is 38 I am 27. Have never though getting pregnant would be difficult for me...so naieve.
I have had digestion problems for about 6 years now. Went and saw a new gastroentolgist about 3 months ago after passing a lot of blood and wanting a diagnosis that was a bit clearer than 'IBS"..had a buch of tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc. etc.
Referred me to a gyno after suspecting it was endometriosis..saw him a bit more than a month ago. He was going overseas for month long holiday after I saw him but instructed me to get a whole bunch of bloods done, internal ultrasound, tubal patency etc.
During internal ultrasound they found 26 ovarian cysts on my left ovary and 14 on my right. Have had strong pain on my left hand side for years now
They couldnt see endo but they suspect it is amongst my bowl so were not expecting to see much. They did not expect to find the PCOS.
A week after this test I went to emergency after waking up with sever pain 10/10! Stayed overnight, originally suspected eptopic pregnancy, ruptured ovarian cyst or appedicitis. Turned out to be ruptured ovarian cyst.
Waiting for gyno to get back to me on laproscopy details now. Husband had to call as they were not getting back to me.
Not very fond of the specialist. During first appt he ended cosultation with telling me he thought I had some psychiatric problems as I was 'high energy' ?! Referred me to his friend psychiatrist and said that I must see him. I am the least hyperactive person I know! I may have spoken a little quickly cos I was nervous and I had never seen a male gyno before. Also had only seen a female gyno once before so was very unaware. Saw shrink and he was suprised to see I am fine.
Anyway, keen to hear from others who are going throug above/have gone through this. I dont really know what to expect next and I am thinking that I should change gynos but I dont want to have to wait months to get into someone else...
