Lissa - yay on your two embies!!!!! As we're about to go down this road ourselves - do you mind me asking, at what stage does your clinic transfer your embryos (day 3? Blastocyst?)? Fingers crossed for a great result for you I hope the tww goes very quickly.
Zammy - sorry you're having an emotional time of things - I can totally relate. I found lullaby conceptions' OPKs very good and cheap. You can order them online. Also, if I wait until my cm has been watery for at least a day or 2 it's a good sign (for me) to start testing with long, irregular cycles.
Cazigurl - good luck with your testing!! Huge fingers crossed for you. Nice to hear from you again
Zoem - hope the Clomid works a charm for you. Let us know how you're going with it.
Ladydee - hand is splinted and bandaged for a whole month - thru my whole vacation. Ah, well.
I really hope the IUI works for you Are you excited or nervous? One dr suggested I do Metformin too, although my GTT was fine and my weight is on the low side. He said it can help ovulation for anyone with pcos. I hope you don't have bad side effects. Your IUI cost seems really reasonable (I mean, considering). Does that include FS visits and meds? For prices - my clinic charges about twice as much for IVF as compared to IUI.
Hello to anyone I've missed
AFM - 5 days til holiday! Trying to organize to do a bHcg when I'm away, as I want to be able to drink on holiday if I'm not even preggers. Can't test till at least the 24th.

thought I'd jump on this thread since I am trying for my first, have been since late 2009.
My mother had PCOS and thanks to clomid, 11 children (no we are not catholic ). So when it was confirmed that I too had it, I thought it would be a matter of getting a FS to prescribe clomid and it would eventually happen. So far not so good! A more recent scan showed that my ovaries were 'kissing' and that I had a large cyst on one of them, so I had a laparoscopy, ovarian drilling, removal of the cyst, a curette and some very severe endometriosis cut out. I've been given a few months to try conceive now using clomid (ovulated naturally 2 weeks after the op last month, started taking my first round of clomid on 7 March on second day of AF) as the endo is expected to come back, then I will be looking at IVF.......which my wallet does not like the idea of! I think I should ovulate around 17 March if the clomid works and I am taking my temp each morning to monitor this.
Good luck to all you ladies!

Oops Zammy - I forgot to say that OPKs only work for me when I'm on a Clomid cycle. They measure your LH, which tends to be very high for us PCOS girls, so I get loads of false positives when on a natural cycle.
Ellymoe - welcome. Wow! You're in competition with Zammy for having the most procedures done. What a rough time of things. I hope you get your bfp while trying your natural cycle. I'm a big temp-taker myself.

Trying and Trying and at times Tireing
Hello Everyone. I am new here. I am 34 and TTC for over 5 years. In October 2010, i was diagnosed with severe POCS. I am on 200mgs metformin as well as about 15 different vitamins etc. I am terribly overweight. Currently, at 120kgs, but i have lost 17kgs since November 2010. I am still dieting but i can not find time or motivation to exercise!
I wonder if anyone had any luck. My doctor, keeps telling me it will happen, but I am losing hope. He wont put me on clomid because i am ovulating.
I am so desperate for babies. I am trying to stay positive, but it can be daunting.
What are your experiences? Any light you can shed or hope you can share?

Congrats on how much you have lost so far! A friend of mine is trying to lose weight at the moment, she's not motivated to go to the gym (I hate them myself) but she does swimming which she loves. I think the trick is to find something that doesn't bore you as well as tire you out because that is a double whammy. I go for a very short jog (about 2km) about 2-3 times per week in the evening, but my favourite exercise is walking, as long as it is not on a treadmill because then it would just feel like a chore. I like walking at night and make my other half escort me (I live in a dodgy area), it's peaceful and nice.
I have the opposite prob, I am not overweight but I am not ovulating! How did your Dr determine that you are definitely ovulating?

Sorry long time between posts for me again. I've only gone through the new thread so please excuse me for anything I may have missed.
Ladydee - Sorry to hear there was no egg. When do you start the FSH injections?
cazigurl - Have you tested yet?
lissa - Thats great with the amount of follies and that they fertilised
Zoem - Goodluck with the clomid it works for you.
Zammy - OPK don't generally work very well for women with pcos. I'd probably suggest temping or checking CM regularly.
Ellymoe - Welcome to the thread hun. Sorry to hear about your experiences so far but good news about ovulating naturally. Ivf isn't necessarily the next step, there are other options you can look into first such as FSH injections.
Iam - Welcome to the thread!! Thats fantastic with your weight loss!! I've increased my exercise lately as trying to lose a few kilos too. It's amazing the difference you feel in your body though. Are you seeing a GP or have you consulted with an FS too?
AFM: Well I consolidated our debt last month and no more credit cards for us It's such a relief going into this knowing that we have no debt apart from the mortgage. I seen my new FS yesterday and I looovve him!! He was so upbeat and positive. I'm starting on FSH injections which I'm so excited about. I started provera yesterday to bring on AF and then we go from there. Once AF is over I need to get a hsg done to check my tubes are clear. I'm really hoping this works first go for us but if not I know I now have the right FS for me and we will get there.

Just thought I would drop by and say hi welcome to Ellymoe and Iam,
Ellymoe- Wow you have been thru quite a battle I hope we can help provide some support for you and that you are nearly at an end of TTC.
Iam- Welcome to you I too am very overwieght but wasnt ovulating at all it can seem very unfair sometimes, Congrats on losing the weight I am down by 13 kgs it will happen weight or no weight 2 of my friends are heavy girls as well and they got there and so will we.
Sammy- congrats on the new Fs and woo hoo for no Credit cards must feel good it is just one less thing for you to stress over now. I am glad you are really happy with your Fs it makes a difference I think.
Windupbird - When do you get to test is it driving you insane yet I am too scared to test I really dont want to lose hope and if you test and it is neg but it is too early too many you get so upset too many If,s for me.
Zoem- Good luck
Zammy - mI hope things are going well for you now.
Ladydee- I hope you are doing well it sucks when things are not going right but this is such a trial and error system we can send people into space but they cant get us pregnant yet we will ge there.
AFM- I am going a little nuts m bloated and sore still not from EPU but I have a alittle OHSS it makes my belly so hard and it makes me feel sick im good in the morning but by the afterneen I have nausea and am so tired I dont sleep very well as I cant find a good spot,on my side my belly hurts and on my back I feel heavy so I am chugging down the water I am back at work but I have sweat pants on under a flowing skirt cause it is uncomfy otherwise I hope this is leading to good things I am on so many pills and potions I now take 14 pills a day and use crinone cream twice a day and Progesterone pessaries twice a day they are not much fun but it will all e worth it to see a BFP at the end come on BFP I am just keeping positive I may be uncomfortable at the moment but with any luck I could be uncomfortably of comfortably pregnant for the next 9 months.
I hate the TWW time just goes so slowly.
We did a 3 day transfer but the embryologist said they were well progressed and were more like day 4 embryos they were compacting in the morula stage which is before blastocyst I ment to wright that up higher for windupbird my fs said they do the 3 day transfers if you have no succes they will try for 5 day as they are less likely to stop growing once they have made it to blasto but the best environment is back inside you.
Loads of for everyone and we see a BFP soon.

Sammy - my FS didn't even mention other options apart from IVF, I'm not sure why. And I was probably so dumbfounded to find out how bad my bits were revealed to be during the surgery that I didn't ask some of the questions I should have! Those pictures of endo look so bloody ugly!
Lissa - it has been a battle however all the major stuff happened within a relatively short period of time. It is worse to get setbacks spread out over time I reckon!
I'm currently experiencing the joys of BD with little CM and a burning-like irritation. I expect to ovulate in a few days if the clomid works but this is a side effect I could do without! I have preseed lubricant (which I bought online and had delivered by accident to my workplace, lucky the packaging was pretty discreet and the colleague who passed it on to me wasn't too nosey ), am only using it externally but think I might have to use internally as well....kinda kills the mood a bit when you have to 'prepare'
