Liquid assets (easily accessible money) might be another matter, but I recently had a friend go through legal aid and he was told that as long as his equity in his property was less than $140k, he was fine.
So perhaps if you could invest that cash no it was no longer classed as liquid assets, you might be okay?

I was back when I was on spp as sometimes i would help a friend with money and transfer it to him as he would transfer back to me not huge amounts 50-100 here or there but as my friend was male they refused saying I was getting help when in reality I was helping and they assumed it was a relationship and not a friendship
