    Default Fresh versus frozen

    Hi again,
I'm also curious as to wether some people have more success with either fresh or frozen.
Also after transfer what do you or don't you do? My general opinion is to go about my life as usual which includes no strenous excercise, not too hot showers, follow my bodys lead regarding rest after pickup. However I do like a couple of glasses of diet coke and bding, lol.
Please tell me I don't need to give up my favourite things!

I've had one fresh and one frozen and both BFN, so that doesn't really give any answers as to which is more successful

As to lifestyle, I was more relaxed with first couple of attempts but I'm becoming more strict as the negatives pile up. I've decided this cycle to stop caffeine, alcohol (and diet coke!) from the beginning, not just after EPU I'm also cutting out any strenuous exercise and I'm going to try more relaxation stuff, like yoga. I know that none of this probably makes any difference but I don't want to look back and go 'what if I didn't do...' And I've also started ordering DH around too!

    What's 'bding'?

I had one fresh and one frozen cycle. I got BFN fresh and BFP frozen but we MC at 8wks. Anyhow I did a natural cycle with the FET and for me I just think my body works better without all those drugs in it......but we have MFI and i dont have any fetility problems that we know of.....

The first cycle I went on with life as I knew it....back at the gym and eating healthy....No bding but there hasnt been any of that for a while cause I just wanted to concentrate on IVF stuff.....and I occasionly dring Coke zero....

After the FET I didnt go to the gym but it was only cause I had the transfer done on Boxing day and the gym was closed for the next two weeks....I did get my BFP that time.....I didnt do anything different in my life except no exercise......

This time round I will just keep living life and not stressing too much......

Dont give up everything....my clinic says you have to 'act' as if you are preg so watch what you eat and no 'new or strenuous' exercise but bding is up to each individual.....

    Goodluck

I've had one fresh and one frozen, my fresh was a BFN and my frozen was a BFP (but early m/c ). I honestly thought I had no chance of a BFP with frozen so I was really surprised when it turned out to be a BFP. Shame that it didn't stick, but it just goes to show that frozens can work too!

Ourbradybunch: I think everyone reacts different to the protocols. Some ladies have more success with one than the other. I got BFP on my first fresh which sadly ended in a MC and then had a chemical pregnancy on my natural frozen cycle. The natural frozen cycle was so much better for my body, I don’t have any know issues and we are doing IVF due to my DH. I did find it a little more nerve racking though hoping my body was going to do what it was supposed to do - like ovulating and making a nice thick lining. Our clinic state a 30% chance of a live birth for a frozen cycle and 50% success for a live birth with a fresh transfer.

I am really bad when it comes to doing a cycle as I wrap myself up in cotton wool, as hard as I try not too – I still keep doing it.

I had chemical pregnancy with first fresh and then went on to have a baby girl from our 4th FET after that. In hindsight it wasn't too many attempts really so im happy with that. I noticed my doc actually transferred the blastocyst embie a day or 2 later than he had on the other fets and he also got me using progesterone a few days before transfer and for about 5 or 7 days after so i think he was experimenting and that did the trick! Or so i thought.

Hi everyone. Thought I'd pop in and give you my two cents. I've had more success with an FET. Our first full stim was fresh and a BFN, then we did our first FET and ended up with a BFP but sadly MC at 10.5 weeks. I then did our second FET, BFN and just completed a fresh stim with a BFN (BT today and just got the results). For my only BFP I changed quite a lot of things in my lifestyle but mainly my diet. I have been having acupuncture since my FS recommended it after our first BFN. So I did acupuncture and was recommended a strict diet which was cutting out all diary, wheat and sugar. My lining became thicker and I got what I wanted a BFP. I also used progesterone injections after transfer with that one. However after that miscarried and I started on my next FET did the diet thing again but did not have the injections or any progesterone support with a natural FET.

It's pot luck. I'm a bit over it all to be honest, but I will be starting on another fresh cycle today as I had no frosties left (day 2 of AF). I will be asking my FS to put me on progesterone injections after transfer as I really struggled with the Crinone this time around - thrush and UTI - I hate the Crinone. And my AF this time is really chunky - sorry TMI.

Not that any of my info helps, but good luck with your cycle.

I had success on an a medicated FET, although I haven't experienced a fresh transfer (due to OHSS). Best of luck
