Default Bedtime battles with hubby not helping

I am trying to get my three kids aged 5 8 and 10 into some kind of bedtime routine. We are all sleeping in the same room as we are building so its not much fun....

I try to keep to a routine by having tea at 6pm then homework or free time after that and bedtime around 7.30 - to read or draw til 8 or 8.30...

When hubby is on nightshift I do it alone and have control but when hubby is home, he sometimes plays board games, or blocks or whatever and that is great that he spends time with them but not at bedtime because then I have to try to get them to bed at 9pm or later...

I've suggested that he plays game with them straight after tea so they have some kind of routine because they are getting confused about what we want of them....

I'm also tired at night and don't want to be entertaining kids late into the evening lol..

Please share with me your bedtime routines and at what time your kids (and what ages) they are go to bed so I can see that I'm not being overly strict.

My boys are 4 & 6 so a little younger than yours but I think consistency is the key regardless of age. I am pretty strict with timing I guess I have approx half hour leeway so that they expect/ know what is coming next. Our routine is dinner 5.30 - 6.00 ish. Then bath or shower After this quiet play only (if there's any fighting straight to bed!). Around 7.15 it's story / reading. Then to bed 7.30ish. I'm a routine person so have stuck to this for years and generally have no bedtime problems. Agree that's it's great the Kids are getting quality Dad time but it's not so great if they are not getting enough sleep or if it makes those nights on your own harder. Good luck.
