I was just after some opinions and personal experiences!
I have been seeing one of the Doctors at Repromed for all of my initial tests and scans etc. We have now been told that IVF (ICSI to be precise) is the only real option for us. I just had a few questions i would love some help on:
1. Has anyone here used Repromed Adelaide - what were your thoughts?
2. The Doctor i am currently seeing is listed on their website under 'GP' - even thought she has honoured in Gyn etc. If i asked to see one of the doctors listed under 'Specialist' do you think i would be getting a higher level of experience/expertise from this doctor hence giving myself a better chance at higher level treatment?
3. Does anyone know the current rough out of pocket expense for an ICSI cycle?
4. Does anyone know if Repromed offers any form of payment plan or anything?
I have nothing but nice things to say about my current doctor but want to make sure i am giving myself the best possible opportunity!
Thank you all so much for your help!

i am just starting my first cycle with Repromed tho working with both the Mildura office and the Adelaide one to get my results from bloods, egg transfer etc. I saw Dr Richard Henshaw for my first initial consult and had phone consults with Dr Sarah Mathews. Both have been really nice and helpful. my 5 min phone consult lasted almost an hour!
I wish i had more answers for you. They do have their prices on their website and they are pretty straight on. You can also get a paper with their prices on it if you request it.
I will definably be asking if they have payment plans etc if we have to go through it again (i hope we don't) But I do believe you can just pay the gap payement instead of the whole amount which is about 3 thousand dollars cheaper.
hope you find the answers you are looking for and the results!!

I've had 2 ICSI cycles with Repromed and my FS is Dr. Kirby. Have only been with Repromed so can't compare them with others. So far I've found them very good. Both the FS and FNs are nice and are willing to answer any questions you have. For the first cycle I was OOP $2583.80 and second $2126.40.

I'm with Repromed too - have done 1 fresh cycle and 3 FETs, and I'm about to start another fresh cycle. We haven't had any success yet despite me having no known IF issues - our problem was diagnosed to be MFI, but after 4 failed transfers you have to wonder if I have an undiagnosed IF problem.
I found they were really good for my fresh cycle, but very hands off for the FETs. I really just felt like a number. I don't think it matters which specialist you see, I have seen a couple of them and liked all of them. All the specialist really does is work out what dose of drugs to put you on as you don't get a choice who does the EPU or ET (depends on who is rostered on theatre that day).
You can find the costs on the website ... I think we had to pay about $7k upfront, but after the medicare rebate it was $2.9k (now only(?) $2.6k due to the extra competition in SA).
Good Luck - hopefully it works for you first cycle!

I went through Repromed for my first experience with IVF! Couldn't speak anymore highly of the especially the FN's!!!! Except one who always took like four goes to get blood out of me but she was lovely! It's only the total OOP cost on their web site but I think you can pay the gap. Anyway from what I know of there's no "payment plan" unfortunately.
I also saw a GP who worked out the meds etc dr Hilary whittle she was fantastic. I can't tell you the difference between a specialist and a gp but I can tell you I only had only enlarged follie and I now have DD I truly believe they are miracle workers! If it wasn't for the money issue I'd be going through them again.
Good luck and I hope your journey is a short one

I go through repromed, I've had 3 IVF (ICSI) cycles and 1 FET. I have found them really good. The nurses are lovely, but there is one that really isn't very good with taking bloods, and I have great veins ! lol.
Being a very private person I was rather concered about my dignity, but the radiographers during scans have never made me feel uncomfortable. The theatre nurses/doctors were a little less considerate (you have to forgive them, they are theatre people) but still I felt comfortable enough.
The doctor I see is also a G.P. but I think you'll find that they all consult each other, especially in more difficult cases. I know my FS has mentied many conversations she has had with the other doctors regarding my care. And even when I have seen other doctors for procedures they have known about me. They have a great computer system that must provide a good history because the nurses always know where you are at.
As for the expenses, I couldn't tell you, I leave all that to the hubby!!!! It's just something I couldn't cope with so he has taken over. As for payment plans - No. I would recommend only paying the minimum you have too. They charged us for a full cycle when it should not have been so watch your accounts and compare to the online price list, hubby is very on the ball with this and now we are in credit over $2000. I think they are a bit dodgy in this regard.

Omg jay we must have had the same nurse every. Single. Time it was 4 goes two in each arm!!!! Haha if I can find her on the web site we should compare it'd be so funny if it was the same FN!!! And omg I remember one day and there were two taking blood and I was sitting their saying in my head please not her please not her but alas every time I got her haha she was really nice though!
ETA damn they don't have their nurses on there! but I'd bet you top dollar that it's the same one
