Default Contracting chickenpox after being vaccinated

My dd3 came out in spots about days ago...it tuened out to be chicken pox.
She is fully vaccinated including the chicken pox vaccine.
Her case was fairly mild and hasn't been to unwell with them.
My four older children have had it and so far my two younger ones show no signs of it (one is to young to be vaccinated)
I (obviously) naively thought that the vaccine stopped them from contracting the virus.
    Is this common?
Have others had the same thing?

Yes it to me is pretty common, i know heaps of kids that have gotten CP mild and pretty bad after being vaxed.
I also know quite a few people who have had the CP more then once.

My sister and her family had it a few years ago
nephew got them, he was fully vaxed
2 weeks later my sister got them, she has previously had CP and the shingles
2 weeks after her my niece got them, she was full BF by my sister.
all got them pretty bad and all should have 'technically' not got them but if they did it should have been mild.

oh and my BIL and my DD1 who have never had them were exposed in the 'high risk' period all 3 times and neither got them.

Common misconception about that vax - it is only 80% successful in preventing chickenpox. It prevents against something like 95% of all sever cases but only 80% of all cases, so pretty much 1 in 5 children vaxxed for it will be likely to get it. A friends DD was vaxxed but got it too. It's one of those things that they fail to tell you.

    Thanks for the hugs.
It would have been horrible to have them on NY's
It is funny how some people just don't get them.

Thank you for the hugs too and for the information.
Very interesting read....I never received anything like that when they were vaxxed...it is really information you should get.

My DD had CPV twice after being vacc'd - and subsequent blood tests show that she did not seroconvert
