hi everyone...sorry for not posting but Ive just caught up on all the action..lots of promising results coming out....

Jenkie....yay for a miracle BFP... cant wait to see how your scan goes...the 2ww to scan is the hardest time...

Lily40....great to hear that your scan was fabulous and bub is ok.... morning sickness can be helped with daily B6 100mg, the blackmores travelcalm ginger tabs are great too. I also found that the weetbix up&go drinks were fabulous for those times you did not feel like eating....good luck...

Wanabb....congrats on a great cycle.... 6 frosties is a great sign of some quality embies...lets hope santa brings you your wish...

Lilibirdy.... and double congrats for you and a great cycle too...woohoo.... I hope that christmas preparations can distract you from the insane train.

Tens...sorry to hear that the last cycle has not been kind to you. If you are looking for a cheaper IVF then westmead hospital in sydney has a public IVF program and costs around $1500 a go... one of the other ladies on the boards used it and was very happy with the service and she got twins at 39.

sunny...lets hope all the extra go go juice goes well... I used saizen on my last cycle as well...lets hope it produces some strong embies...

jonathansmun... hope you had a great EPU and have some strong embies growing for your transfer...

to everyone else I miss...I wish you the best of luck with all the jabbin n stabbin and pill popping...

Im 29 weeks now... chugging along..no further bleeds or scares.... slowly getting a fat tummy...and working probably way too hard.... the christmas break is sure looking good...
managed to pass my glucose test...a big hurdle for us mature mummies... so now I just have to monitor for pre-eclampsia... as I am at risk of...due to family history, sperm donor, age, presence of protein in urine.... Im hoping that everything goes ok, Waiting for a growth scan next week...
But Ill be reading and writing when I can... bloomin exhaustion of the 3rd trimester...lol..lol....
I know that Im telling santa about all you lovely ladies so you are all on the nice list and get your BFPs...
    xxxxxxx

Tens2Many – If I remember rightly, I think your BT is tomorrow and also you birthday…..I sure hope Im right…… for tomorrow. I have everything crossed for you.

Micca – Good to hear from you again. Congratulations on the glucose test…..another milestone down. Well done. Wow, 29 weeks….it only seems like yesterday you got your positive on the stick!!!

JonathansMum – How did EPU go this morning…are you well?

Lilbirdy – How are you….when is transfer?

Wannabb – How are you feeling?

    to everyone else.

    AFM
First scan yesterday and I have 6 follies (1 on left and 5 on right)….mixed emotions, as it is exactly the same as my first cycle, which only yielded 4 eggs….but like FS says, its early days (only 4 days of stimming). My blood test came back with very low oestrogen, progesterone and LH, so now, every second day I have a tiny booster shot of Pregnyl. This is on top of the tiny amount of Lucrin. My Gonal F has increased from 450 to 487.5…..last Saizen (Human Growth Hormone) injection today….all up 5 injections today!!! Second scan and BT tomorrow morning to see how the follies are going….hoping for a couple more.

sunny15- wow you have lots of scans my FS only did 1 on day 10ish. Also lots of injections. may your left ovary get off its lazy behind and produce some fat juicy eggs too.

micca -glad you made it back to oz safely and passed glucose challenge. Not long to go now. When are you finishing work?

jonathonsmum -hope epu went well and lots of eggies partying with sperm as I type. for good fert rate

billiesmum- have you packed all your longjohns yet (cant find snow icon for you)

lilbirdy hope your embies are going strong hon. Is tf sat or sun?

tens2many- hope POAS is wrong and bfp on bloods.

AFM - If the world would stop moving it would be great. On the boat from tassie to melbourne last night and spent all day driving to adelaide today. Will be going crazy now in TWW as no work to distract me. May have to ring old agency and see if I am still on their books and do some work (or maybe not).
Have had cramps today from pessaries. Never had side effects from crinone so weirdly glad as it feels like something is different. Feel more positive so far this time

To all the other lovely ladies on this thread thinking of you all and hope you are well.

Not much news from me had my 10 week blood test this morning where apparently they check the blood for something to do with downs and then combine that with the 12 week scan to determine the outcome wont know anything until the 24. Also sent of swab for cystic fibrosis should also find out on 24 Dec. Its going to be a big day. Not much happening just been feeling sick and exhusted this morning first morning where I have felt ok but the day is only young. Belly is so bloated from all the pessaries (doing two three times a day) that I look 6months preggers my mum said she popped out at three months so I need to be careful as will not be telling work until I know all is ok 2 weeks before the birth haha no will tell them at four months.

Not much more to tell I am thinking of you all and everything we go through what stong women we are. Have a great day ladies XOX

Good morning ladies. Sorry it has taken me so long to come back and do personals. It takes so much longer when you spend a little time away, but I have been lurking and reading.

Lilly40 - how exciting. Can't believe you are 10 weeks. Good luck for the B/T and the scan and your 12 week scan.

Wannabb - great that you are feeling positive. The TWW is such a hard time. Hope you find lots to keep you busy and take your mind of it. When is your B/T?

Sunny15 - thanks for thinking of me. I only ever have 4 - 6 follicles, and on the last cycle they said only 4 but they ended up retrieving 6 eggs. I know it is slightly disappointing, but it does only take one. Is the Saizen expensive? I keep reading about it, but from memory it is expensive. Not that anything isn't on IVF!! Good luck for your scan and B/T today.

Micca - thank you for asking Santa for us for our wish. It bought tears to my eyes. I can't believe you are 29 weeks! You still are our over 40's poster girl! Very happy for you that you passed your glucose test. You sound like you need a rest - are you having time off over Christmas?

JonathansMum - how did you go at EPU? Hope you are resting up.

Tens2many - hope you are doing ok. We are thinking of you.

Lilbirdy - how are you going? When is your ET? 12 eggs with 10 fertilising is great results!

Pinkymcg - it's tough, isn't it, when it is finances that dictates when we stop trying. This is my last and final cycle due to finances, and the emotional stress.
This cycle has to be your one then. Here's to a 2011 BFP!!

TryingReallyHard - it sounds like you and I both got the Wazza pep talk! I understand that our eggs are old, and that we would have a much better chance with donor, but it also helps their clinic statistics if they succeed more. Does that sound cynical? I hope you succeed in which ever option you chose.

    Hoping4more - thinking of you.

Billie'smum - I'm not quite sure when you are going away, but have a wonderful holiday ready to get back into it in the New Year.

Mum4nay - how are you going?

Hello to everyone else, I am sorry if I have missed you.

AFM - I had a phone consult with a Dr in SA who specialises in adenomyosis (thanks to a very kind lady on Bub Hub) and he was wonderful. He said that it certainly can effect implantation and that, other than my age (that old thing again) it is possible to fall pregnant with adenomyosis. So after a long think, I have decided to go to my FS (not the guru) and we are doing a cycle with what the Dr in SA recommended. I didn't want to spend $$$$ on a donor cycle, if it is implantation that is my problem. So I am doing one more cycle with my own eggs, and if it doesn't work, I am moving on with life. I went yesterday and got a Zolodex implanted which basically makes your ovaries go to sleep. I have these implants for 2 months, then we will do a cycle. This also means the eggs we collect will be less than normal (aaghh, since I normally only get around 6) as we are more or less making everything shut down. Unfortunately side effects are I am more or less going through menopause for the next 2 months, so hot flushes, headaches and more. I am also back on the DHEA which I didn't love, it gave me really bad back ache and other side effects but I am giving my last attempt everything I can.

    Have a great weekend ladies.

    Jenxx

Hi everyone, very brief update om my phone -again!

OPU yesterday, 17 eggs collected so feeling like a bit of a pincushion today!

Update from lab this morning was that 11/17 were mature and that 9 had fertilised normally overnight...

They won't check them again until sunday morning and they'll make a call then whether to do a day3 transfer (if we only have a few worth using) or whether we shoot for a day5 transfer if theres enough to keep going...

Heres hoping for lots of strong embies still going on tuesday! I doubt that will be the case, but you never know!!!

    Cheers, JM

Jen, good to see you back, you've certainly been through all the possibilities with a fine toothed comb. I wish you luck for the upcoming icky 2 month period and then crossing everything you get some eggs and your BFP.

Micca, does it feel like things have gone quickly for you ? It sure does reading your posts ! I know EDD is sometime in Feb right, when are you planning to stop work ? Good luck with your scan next week, it sounds like you're passing all the tests with flying colours !!

Lilly glad everything is going well, how long do you have to keep on the dreaded pessaries for ? I hope you don't mind me saying this but when I look at your sig, I am inspired that persistence and pushing through can get us there !! All the best hun, let us know how your various tests go.

wannabb - I have no words of wisdom for you for 2ww, it's like a between all the little voices in your head wondering 'will I, won't I', 'should I POAS ?' etc. All the best for you to stay strong, I'll be with you as of tomorrow. What's your test date ?

J's mum - good luck with your embies !

Sunny, it's an IVF cliche but it does only take one and it's still early days as your FS says.

    Hi to everyone else !

AFM, transfer is tomorrow very early, followed by accupuncture. As of yesterday I had 4-5 nice looking embies, including four grade 1s so they still look good tomorrow at blasty stage.

    Hi everyone

Im really disappointed today....2nd scan this morning revealed only 4 out of my 6 follies have decided to grow.....I feel like the wind has been knocked from my sails....I have thrown everything at this cycle, waited 7 months and paid a fortune for this cycle. Depending what happens at EPU, I will really have to weigh up just how much bang I am getting for my buck....I paid just under $10,000 for this cycle (not including the daily pills, potions, DHEA and the weekly acupuncture).....I cant keep throwing that kind of money at each cycle. I know it only takes one good quality egg, but I need to have more 'up my sleeve' for the freezer...I cant afford to keep doing fresh cycles. I so hope the Saizen is worth every cent of its $300 per injection.

Sorry everyone....will be back later when I am a bit more positive.

    Hi Ladies,

Sorry I have been MIA and thanks for your posts and enquiries how we are going. Sadly our little miracle isn't happening. Started to MC on Wednesday and after a blood test Thursday, it confirmed the news. Now am in the middle of my worst nightmare. Am absolutely devastated. Things were looking so good, we just couldn't believe our luck that we would fall naturally after all this time. This is such a hard journey. I feel like I don't know which way to turn, but at the moment I just need to grieve for my little angel who was wanted so much. Our dream of having a little brother/sister for DD is just slipping through my fingers and I'm helpless and can't do anything about it.

All the very best to those of you in the TWW I wish you every success for a BFP. And all the best to everyone else in your cycles. Sorry, haven't been able to read through all the posts to see where everyone is up to.

Hopefully this thread have some good news before Christmas. All the best....
