Hi Leeese - there are two ways that I know of to post a private message.

    1. Click on the persons name and a drop down menu will appear and one of the options is to send a private message to that person.

    2. Click on the 'Quick Links' tab that is above the posted message but not quite at the top of the page/screen. A drop down menu will appear and the private message option is last on the list, click on that. Then down the left hand side will be more options relating to private messages.

I will PM you my regime shortly.

Default Hi there......can I join in

    Hello lovely hubbers,

I last posted forever ago. Was an avid poster, now just a long time lurker.

Hope you don't mind me joining in.

I am on D6 of an FET cycle, after a failed natural FET attempt in March. My body decided not to play the game the thickness of my lining just was not right. So after lots of umming and aaahing I reluctantly agreed to do a full FET. I have to say the 10 mg of letrozole a day has been very tough. Thankfully I took the last dose today.

My reluctance to do a medicated FET is because I so do not want my brain to go into 'must have baby' mode due to the hormonal assistance (apologies if this statement upsets anyone). I have an amazing and beautiful daughter who recently turned 4 from a full stim cycle. I know I am very lucky to have her.

It has taken me until this year to be ready to head down the baby number 2 road. We have two frosties and I am definite that I will not be doing any more stim cycles if the FET is not successful.

So enough about me. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

    Hi Again

It's so nice to be so warmly welcomed back! Thank you.

otgirl - Yes I think the cutoff in a lot of places is 45 but more and more women are having success over that age now so it will probably increase over time.

leeese - See this is just now naive I am. I wouldn't have a clue what sort of cycle i'm on. I just let the fs do his thing, do as i'm told, take my meds as instructed and otherwise really avoid thinking about it. So here is what i did last time and what i'm doing again, only the gonal f dosage has changed. First day of period start the pill, I'll call that day one. Day 13 start synarel, two sprays in the morning, same in the evening. Day 18, last day of pill. Day 23, commence cardiprin, one per day and Gonal F 450 iu. Day 29, scan. Day 34, synarel in the morning only, scan also. Day 35, trigger injection. Day 36, egg collection. Day 38, embryo transfer...hopefully. So what is this type of cycle called?
Last time, I was 43 and 6 months old. It was my first cycle. Apart from my age, I had polyps, fibroids and mild endometriosis which I had had removed about 8 weeks prior to starting IVF. My uterus was so full of junk that the FS still has no idea if my tubes are blocked or not. I had another thyroid issue, thyroid antibodies, but that didn't affect my cycle, just my pregnancy, I had another drug to take for the first 13 weeks....along with all the other delightful drugs they give us when we're older.

goodhope - hang in there. Maybe you do need to change FS's. Mine is Dr Esler in Toowoomba. I almost feel like I'm a challenge to him!! He actually encourages me to keep going rather than put me off. He said for this cycle he is not only aiming to get me pregnant but to have spares...which we didn't have last time....and I'm 45 this time. Nothing ventured, nothing gained I say!!!!

sunny15 - Yes, I posted the very first post. I remember feeling very alone at the time, we were keeping the whole IVF thing to ourselves and I had no one to talk to. I was stunned at all the wonderful replies I got back then and the conversations that started.
My first scan is on the 11th. I am just hoping for at least the same number of eggs. I've heard and read so often of people getting a lot of eggs on one dosage of Gonal F and then the dosage goes up and the number of eggs goes down.
This cycle has me more worried than the last for some reason.

    Hi girls,

sunny15 - I have an appointment with my FS on the 10th,and will find out then when I start again. Hopefully I don't have to wait to long as I feel like time is running out. Your words though, and your BFPs, have given me renewed hope, so thank you. I would be forever grateful if you could send me a personal message and let me know what you are taking.

leese - I do feel so much better now after reading these posts. It is horrible having to start all over again. I was feeling so confident. Now, I realise how hard this is going to be.

OTgirl - I wish you all the best too. Lots of finger crossing and baby dust.:babydust1

LuckyAPA - you are what brought me to this site. I read your first post, and I was inspired. You had your first baby at 43, I have no doubt that you can do it again at 45.
What is Gonal F? I was on Puregon . 450 iu.

mammalinz- goodluck for your scan tomorrow.I hope it all goes well and you get to go to EPU. I have had my AMH tested. It was .3. Not good.

Tens2may- I would have been furious with the nurse. Can you change nurses?

AFM - my FN told me to take the ovidrel on Saturday night and then try naturally on the Sunday night (last night). Apparently I will ovulate today. So this is what DH and I did. Not holding out much hope though. I will see my FS on the 10th, to find out what to do next. Can't believe I'm back to square one.

Anyway, I wish everyone the best of luck

    Hi Deb11

I believe you are either given Puregon or Gonal F. They do the same thing I think, and probably doctors choice as to which one they use. I might be wrong though......

LuckyAPA - I am on 450 – 225 in the morn and 225 at night. I was kind of hoping they would bump it up. Good luck with your scan on the 11th. What kind of cycle are you on?
Otigrl – Yeah I would be very surprised if Nick canceled. He seems the type that would make us all soldier on regardless of the scan result. . Perhaps there may be a nice surprise at the other end. Did Nick suggest any alterations for the mini IVF cycle? When I was having the intralipd the other day(Friday) – the lady on the right hand side of me - was one of Nick’s patients and 45 years old. It didn’t seem she was going to be stopping anytime soon. Nick had not suggested the mini IVF with her, either. Nick has suggested my next cycle be the mini IVF - what does it all mean?? I am completely negative about this cycle – and I am wondering if this negatively will bring me joy or at least a different result from the usual

Leeese – Welcome. I am 41 also, been trying IUI / IVF not getting anywhere for the past 1.5 years – I changed clinics – I don’t know if it will help at all but it did lift my spirits
Goodhope – I am 41 and my specialist has gone higher than 300iu. If you live in Melbourne you can private message me and ill give you his details
Sunny15 – Hmm I would love your data – I will deffinately PM you – thanks. By the way – who is this guru you speak of? Will you travel interstate for him? Is there a waiting period.. maybe I should start considering the next option
Hopeforbub – Welcome. I am on an atagonist cycle – day 13 and counting. What is a FET cycle – no one has ever offered me this option?
Deb11- Thank you for your well wishes! I am a bit nervous but curious if the extra couple of days has made any difference to me. With the AMH test, you stated you were a 3 – what is it out of? What is a good number? BTW gonal f is just another brand – it is FSH. Your appointment is on the 10th – so are you waiting for AF to kick in ?

ATM - Day 13. Another scan and BT in the morning.

hope4bub – Welcome….looking forward to getting to know you.

luckyAPA – My clinic or I should say my clinic’s ‘home’ base located in another capital city had an age limit for treatment (45), however, they were put up on discrimination charges many many many years ago, therefore, they do not have an age cut off now….they assess everyone and take it on an individual basis. Even though it is a long cycle, it must be exciting to be cycling again….I hate the waiting, I so want to be proactive and be cycling again.

deb11 and leeese – I have sent you both a message on my ‘supplementary regime’. I hope it gives you something new to work with…please feel free to ask me further questions on the information….bubhub is all about information sharing and support.

deb11 – Gonal F and Puregon are the same thing, just different names. In reference to your recent post, is your AMH .3 or 3? Good luck for the natural way and hope there is a nice surprise for you in a couple of weeks.

Mammalinz – The guru is Dr Warren de Ambrosis in Brisbane. I am in Cairns….thankfully flights to Brisbane are not expensive. Apparently, and I could have this wrong, but the ideal AMH should be 10 – 20. Mine is 4.4, which is low but not bad considering my age, however, all my other ?hormones are functioning really well….my FS has said that although my egg reserve is low, my body is still really fired up to do what it is supposed to do in a natural cycle.

sunny15 - That is wonderful your body is all fired up for a baby. I wouldnt know the status of my body. Going by my results in IVF so far - I think my body is going into permanent retirement. Thank you for all your suggestions - as soon as they write zero on my hand - ill jump on it for the next cycle.

Goodhope - I am with Monash IVF and my Dr is Nick L. If you private message me I can give you more details. Not sure what the protocol is here - but I dont think I am allowed to promote?

ATM - Had BT and scan today. Hmmm. Not much movement. The good news is E jumped from 420 to 1677. The bad news is - it seems i only have 2 follies of 18 each. There is no discussion of cancellation, continuation just forced EPU on Friday. Terrified I am going to get a repeat of last time - zero eggs . A bit scared and frightened. This could be the end. Unfortunately my partner has not been very supportive this cycle! . He has been very focused on himself and what the results mean to him. I had requested him to be strong for me - but he has had difficulty (this cycle). When I came out of the scan today and told him my results - he burst into tears. I really needed him to be there for me and be strong. Oh well - what are you going to do ? hey? I am so glad I have this forum .
