    Hi Ladies,
Just popping in with a bit of a me post -- had my second scan and BT today. There is really only one big follicle at 21mm, the other littlies are not "coming up" as they put it. So we are going to EPU on Wednesday anyway -- really hoping this is the one we need. I am terrified there won't be anything in the follicle but I guess we won't know til Wednesday. The FS doesn't want to do another cycle with us because of my age and poor response. Don't know if we will try another clinic, or DHEA, or donor eggs if this one doesn't work (hopefully we won't need to).

cjm1 - hopefully you wont need to go to another cycle and this 1 follie yields a mature healthy egg, which fertilises, buries in and grows. for you. If you would like to cycle again, would you consider trying another clinic...is it an option for you?

Hi ladies hope you all had a happy easter and the easter bunny found you all for some chocolate overload. My beautiful 8yr old DD snuck to the reject shop (5 doors away from where we live) whilst I was serving a customer and bought me a big fluffy pink rabbit....and I got cold toast with honey, she really is a thoughtful little girl I hope she looks after me when im old and grey and doesnt just toss me in some old home .

Sunny 15- Im glad to hear you got spoilt.Any thing is worth a shot to get us preggers.

Mammalinz- Maybe feeling poorly is preparation for morning sickness

cjm1- Goodluck wednesday let that 1 big follicle be a big beautiful bub in 9 months you will be in my thoughts all day stay strong.

AFM- still waiting ..........and waiting........and waiting.....
we are going away for a few days and were staying in the same town as our clinic as I was scheduled for u/s wednesday now Im just gunna relax and have 4 p/j days and wait to see what the f/s wants to do.

    Cheers

Otgirl – Sunny15 makes an interesting point – what is FS take on 17 follies v’s 2 eggs.
Sunny 15- I cant believes I am finally cycling. Wish I were happy about it. My first scan, blood test and infusion are happening all on the same day – Friday. I am not holding my breath, though. I agree with you – trying to do something different has to be more helpful than doing the same thing every time. I stopped acupuncture and replaced it with massages? Feels better anyway. I hope you find the tweak to get you the BFP !!
Cjm1 – Hopefully that bulging follicle is holding the liquid honey with a perfectly A+ grade eggie in it, just what the Easter bunny ordered. I am confused – your only 42!! Not 52! I don't understand your clinic's attitude. Hopefully you are right – this will be the cycle for you and you wont have to try another clinic, regime or alternate route. If my clinic wouldn’t take me for another cycle – I would try another clinic! For me, 42 is not the give up age
Tens2many – awwww.. Your daughter sounds so lovely and adorable. Ha ha – id love to think feeling poorly is about preparation for morning sickness but I haven’t even had EPU yet ! hehe. Waiting sucks. When is your appointment with the FS?
AFM - jabbing... HGH and daily x 2 purgeron - that stuff stings ! and swallowing 101 different pills.

cjm1 - I am so sorry to hear your news! ugh that is terrible the eggie didnt fertilize . When i get bad news - I just have to sit with it for a day or two before I can figure out the next step. This journey for all of us is so hard and heart breaking ! My thoughts are with you

ATM - I am jabbing four injections per day. Tomorrow is my BT, scan and infusion. I have been feeling beyond awful today. Headaches, flushes, odd pain in my tum tum - just really not right!! Tonight we had to rush out and spend another $1000 on the Luv's. I am not expecting good news tomorrow. Could this be the end of my IVF journey?

ATM - me rant - just as expected this cycle is going NOWHERE fast.
Today is day 9 and had my scan, BT & intralipid infusion – I have over ten follies but only two are at 10. So not great. They are going to keep me on the cycle longer and ill rescan & blood test on Tuesday morning. Mind you I have never had over 10 follies… but they are little or nothing. I just have to keep going and see what happens. The two ladies next to me getting the intralipid infusion where very nice and positive – so that made me feel better. The lady on the right had just found out she was pregnant and thanks to the Colorado had 27 eggs !!! Crazy I tell you . She is 38 and it was her 7th Cycle. Once you are pregnant you have to have another infusion.

Ugh all this money, all these injections and such a nothing result! Seriously - i think this is it for me. Does this mean the dhea did nothing - perhaps it is still too early

    How is everyone else going?

lots of disappointment and frustration on the board today... huge group hug to everyone....

cjm.... huge huge hugs.... such a sad result from all your hard work... you can keep the hope alive for a little longer, but i know that you must be full of despair... hugs and hugs, I would definately try another clinic...there are many out there that specialise in us oldies... most clinics hate us as we make their stats look poor which is why some clinics tell poor responders that they are hopeless ...when other clinics are often able to get them pregnant.

mammaliz.... the highs and lows of IVF... great news that you have so many follicles... lets hope that they can grow... have they upped your meds?? dont give up yet.. the fat lady has not sung her last song....

tens... enjoy those PJ days... and remember coffee and chocolate as the first meal of the day are fabulous....

    sunny.
.. im glad that you are still in the race... babies are still in your future. i hope wazza throws everything at you... im seeing him in june...

otgirl... big hugs to you on your disappointing result...

    big hugs to all....
I continue on the eat sleep feed routine, back to work next week..sigh... the downs of being a single mother with 2 mortgages.... i would have loved more off.... my only advice is that when you get your babies take as much time off as you can because they are just so wonderful and precious.

i follow and read daily... i'll be back on the preparation trail probably july...

micca - No they haven't put up my meds.It is my first cycle with this FS - so perhaps it is a bit of an experiment?? They say the follies enlarge by 2mm per day - if this is so - my two tens will only be up to 16mm for the tues am scan- i guess Ill just have to wait and see.
Having a new baby is so lovely but also so exhausting! How are you managing on your own?? Have you joined a mummies group yet?

    Question what worked for you?

    Hi all,

I'm 43, married to a wonderful guy, and have recently started on the IVF journey with Monash IVF in Melbourne.Have just been through my first cycle - did the Synarel and Puregon - but at my first scan yesterday, was told I only had one follicle, so the cycle was cancelled. I was devastated. I guess I was overly confident and expected it to work first go. I was so excited about EPU next week and then the transfer, only to be told I have to start all over again.
Anyway after spending most of today reading through this thread, I now feel so much more confident that I can become a mum. There are so many different things to try. This is just the beginning. So what are your suggestions? What do you feel made the difference for you?Our problem is age related ( my age ). My husband's sperm is fine.
You guys are amazing! And so strong! I never realised how hard it would be.
