I was told by my aunt who is managing a business and does payroll etc.. She had to check with centre link for an employee.. the money is funded to the company in two installments, one in the beginning of the leave and one mid way through.

There are no restrictions. I asked this very question today at Family Assistance. You're on leave from work; what you do in your own time is your own business.

Feather's post is applicable when you're applying for PPL. If you're living outside Australia permanently you cannot apply. As long as you meet the work and residency requirements, you will receive PPL.

The rule seems changed since 1jan 2013... I have the same situation. I will give birth in oversea but have a permenant job in Australia. After giving birth, I will bring back my child and stay in Australia. Can I still get the parental paid leave? Will they just pay for few weeks rather than 18weeks?
