    Hi there,
So what is your favourite book and why? Did it change your perspective on life or just simply make you smile........

The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald, because it's just such a great book.

Middlemarch by George Elliot. The most perfect novel ever written. I've perhaps enjoyed other books as much, but none have been as well written as Middlemarch. Such as Wuthering Heights, fantastic book, but has its flaws.

Angela Davis: Women, Race and Class.

I'm reading the Continuum Concept at the moment, and wow, I think all parents should read that one during their pregnancy!

I have a few faves that I just read and re-read forever. These are:

James Herriot 'Vet' series. I LOVE them. They are funny, poignant, easy-reading, you go right into 1930s Yorkshire England and disappear once you read them.

Anne of Green Gables series, by LM Montgomery. Needless to say - my username kind of speaks for itself. These are not necessarily 'easy reading', but they are beautiful reading. The descriptions of the countryside, and of ideas and concepts are gorgeous (and poetic). You also disappear right into Canada in the 1900 Maritime period.

Bridget Jones' Diary 1&2 - these are super easy-reading, funny and make me feel better about myself. Love them.
