Hi everyone! Sorry have been a bit quiet lately - just trying to lay low and not think about things too much, if that makes sense.
Millie, you must be really pleased Wazza is back on deck, although I know he will have you chugging heaps of pills! He gave a good friend of mine with AMH less than one a set of lovely twins, and another is expecting her first baby from a donor egg cycle coordinated by him any day now, so I know he is a miracle worker. Here's hoping this time he works a miracle for you
PinkB, hope the fetal medicine expert had some good news for you.
Crofty, This thread has been my anchor for this journey, here's hoping your stay here is short and ends with a lovely BFP.
Starfish, how are things going with you?
Mum4Nay, hope all is going well with you and bubs and your lovely little chappie (oh yeah, and DH too!) Have you moved yet? Packing up a house is YUCK, but worth it all for your lovely new place.
AFM, am getting more and more anxious as the nuchal scan approaches. That is when the nightmare began last time. Am now ten weeks, nuchal is two weeks away, don't know how I will get through the wait, much less how I will manage to actually walk into the fetal medicine unit and actually have the scan without falling apart. DH is a true optimist and saying that everything will be alright this time, but I can't even bring myself to bond with the baby for fear it will all be taken away like last time. I am still high risk for miscarriage anyway so another scan next week, this time with the obs. I didn't manage to actually see her last time so hoping it is a good omen. Thank you wonderful ladies all for thinking of me, if you have any good thoughts and prayers send them my way to help me get through the next few weeks.

sorry for the radio silence from this end. like others, i guess trying not to think too much about 'things', but i have been lurking a bit and keeping up with what's going on.
As I think starfish said, it seems that a few of our lovely UTD ladies haven't been having too smooth a ride.
pinkB - how did you get on with the fetal medicine expert? I can well understand your concerns but hope it's not getting on top of you. for reassuring news and less stress as you head into the second half of your pregnancy.... also in response to your question of ages ago - no, I'm not on DHEA
gardenia - also a stressful time for you. Is bed rest from an early stage something they might require? I'm sure you're avoiding strenuous exercise in any event. Hope that things are going along as well as possible for you.
and mum4nay - sounds like it might be best to avoid popping on the scan DVD!... Exciting that your settlement is coming up. Will be great to be all moved in and settled by the time your little blue bundle arrives
trying - wow, your little one is an absolute fighter. Was overjoyed to read your post of a couple of weeks ago and even better that you are now at the 10 week point. Can totally understand your apprehension as the 12 week scan approaches. that all is well.
ivfhopeful - welcome to the thread and i'm sure what others have said about AMH has given you some reassurance. I guess you're on your 2ww now. Hope you're not going too bonkers and that a BFP awaits. How amazing if all works out without you having to go through IVF again.
crofty - a big welcome to you too. Very frustrating that you will have to wait for an FET but I guess maybe in some ways good to know that that hard-fought embie won't be going back into a not-ideal environment. I also know that clinics that use the latest freezing technique have very similar success rates with fresh and frozen cycles these days. Everything crossed that this is your cycle
milliegirl - hey there sounds like you're keeping yourself busy with lots of meds. not long to go now for you. bring it on!!
starfish - the end of the OCP must be just around the corner now? hope so for your sake - cr@p that it affects you so badly. so pleased for you that the endless waiting is coming to a close and hanging out to hear a positive result.
swede - as others have said, your little archie looks like an absolute delight. sounds like he's really keeping you on your toes - and a big boy to boot! what a magical time
melk - fantastic to hear from you. wow - izzy's already 3 months old. what a beautiful age. so pleased all is going well for you
heiro - really sorry to hear about the setback with your DP. I didn't sense from your post that you are ready to completely throw in the towel yet - though clearly hugely frustrated, understandably. Hope you can see a good path to a way forward soon
AFM - thanks to all of you for lovely posts. We were not able to do a stim cycle this month due to work commitments, so will be kicking off for the last time when AF arrives in a couple of weeks. I'm finding it very difficult to be upbeat about it, so in some ways I guess this last cycle will be a bit of a 'no regrets' insurance policy. I read a while ago that 90% of women at Genea who are going to be successful get a BFP in the first 3 stim cycles. We did one at another clinic at the start of the year, so only one stim so far with Genea, but after this next cycle it will be 3 stims this year and if that hasn't worked then I will feel we gave it all we had and will be able to focus on moving forward. My thinking at this stage is that if we have two good blasties, we will transfer both. Don't want to have any frosties left over.

My, it is quiet here! to everyone and hope you're enjoying lovely spring weather
Crofty - welcome, and no harm trying something different after 5 cycles I reckon! My work colleague just got a BFP from a FET - and a heap of her friends same when fresh cycles didn't work so... you just never know.... Crap about the wait though but you're only young in IVF terms
Melk - wonderful to hear about your cheeky little one Izzy - didn't 3 months go quickly! Enjoy
Trying - GOOD LUCK tomorrow - glad DH is positive and brave - no doubt he'll be there to hold your hand
Slinky - good plan, last cycle's often surprise us
Starfish - must be getting closer now... can't wait to hear how it all goes and you have your long awaited BFP
Millie - bring on Wazza, will you transfer one or two this time??
AFM - getting fat... all good. We move house early Nov and have found a child care place already in new area for DS - my life is working out sweet
17-10-2011 17:51 #1186
Ivfhopeful, hope the BDing has been successful and you are surviving the 2ww! When can you test?
Magnificent Millie, my cycle buddy! In fact my ED cycle buddy so I feel even more blessed to have you to share this with Have I been enjoying the break? Hmmm, I have been trying to but TBH I remain quite consumed by my grumpy, ugly making OCP side effects! Latest one, my (.)(.) are enormous, full and sore (and they were sizeable to begin with!) Can't wait for AF to arrive, sweet relief! How are you feeling about this transfer? Must be a comfort to have Wazza back?!
Pink, hope the fetal medicine appointment went well??
Trying, sweetheart these are all for you Praying to all the baby gods and crossing everything (including my eyes!) that you get the BEST of news at the NT scan
Slinky, with Mum4nay on the power of the 'final cycle'. Carpe Diem, no regrets and I hope it comes true for you also!! Timing wise looks like you might be cycle buddies with Millie and me!
Mum4nay, I'm loving your positive mojo and glad that all is falling into place in your world
Melk, lovely to hear Izzy is thriving! I saw your recent pics, very gorgeous bubba and mama!
Spot, hope you are doing ok?
Swede, DrM, Always Hoping, Hiero, Gardenia
Taking my last OCP tomorrow Hope to NEVER, EVER have to go on it again! Would rather inject myself in the eyeball with clexane! So we wait for AF, then start progynova while waiting for sis to get her AF...never taken this before so don't know what to expect, anyone else had it?
I am starting to feel the tiniest ray of hope come to life inside of me that we might FINALLY get a sticky bub...
17-10-2011 21:35 #1187
Starfish, Progynova is one of the easiest drugs I've had to take through this whole IVF journey (and you know if there was a crap side effect of all the drugs, I've had it!). Apart from making my boobs a bit tender, it was fine - and it made me really, really calm - so DH loved it! I did have some pimples in the first few weeks I was on it, but they settled down pretty quickly (I was on Progynova twice daily after my hysteroscopy, then 3 times a day after my FET to support my endometrium (which was a bit light-on after my D&Cs). I stayed on it up until week 8 of my current pregnancy, and then tapered down by one a week. I finish it completely tomorrow and DH reckons he's missing it already! I hope your experience is similar to mine lovely! And thank you for you wonderful good thoughts - I teared up when I read your post, its so special to have someone I haven't even met thinking of me through this stressful time I hope Progynova is part of giving you a BFP too!
Slinky, I wish you the very best of luck for this cycle the golden egg is there to give you your bub. Thank you also for your good thoughts, I see the obs tomorrow and think I will ask her to scan me before we even start talking! I just want this baby so badly and I am so terrified of another loss. My first pregnancy was so carefree - ignorance is bliss, eh?

Mum4Nay wow that far now. Will have to meet up again. Have you settled in yet? I can ask for the car for one day and come meet up with you in your area.
ps,.... for all those still waiting to have their little miracle.

Crofty –welcome - great to see you on this thread !!! Just read on the Sydney thread what a great cycle you have had –fantastic!
Mum4nay – glad all going smoothly, time is going fast now!
Starfish – good riddance to the OCP!!!!!! The business end of things is coming around now, I am hoping for the smoothest run for you from here!!
T42 – I am thinking of you and hoping you get really positive news over the next few weeks. It is not fair to have to go through so much stress. I hope your scan this week goes well. I am thinking of you. Thanks for thinking of me too and your lovely message!
Melk – wow – can’t believe Izzy is 3 months already!!! Fantastic that she is a great sleeper too!
Millie – good luck for this upcoming cycle!
Slinky – glad you are doing well. I really hope your upcoming cycle is the one for you and you can get off this rollercoaster with a bubba in your arms
AFM – thanks for all your kind thoughts, we saw the fetal med Dr – which was v.worthwhile. he said the kidney prob bubs has is alot worse than the kidney marker for downs so he doesn’t consider it a marker for downs. He said when there is a problem identified in a scan they do a much more in depth scan and that showed everything else was fine so he doesn’t think our risks have changed from the nuchal scan which were low risk – so that is a big relief!! He doesn’t recommend an amnio so thats good too. He said he expects the kidney problem to get worse but the extent is unknown. All we can do is wait til the next scan in 6 weeks and take it from there and hope for the best. All this plus moving has set off my vomiting alot more but its all part of it - finding myself craving chips and cheeseburgers!!!! Starting to feel bubs move more now which i am addicted too – its v.surreal and we feel so lucky. Thanks again lovely ladies really appreciate the support!

Pink, I'm glad you were able to get more detailed info and put your mind at ease in some respects. I can only imagine how scary it is though and having to do yet more waiting! Very encouraging news an amnio is not being recommended Will this Dr remain involved in your care now? I am also hoping for the best for you and also that you get some relief soon from the (hope that's not enough to set off a bout! )
