So you are planning on freebirthing at a holiday house? How does that work? How do you know when to book? Isn't one of the points of homebirth/free birth that you do it at home because you feel more comfortable and relaxed at home thus facilitating the birth process?

So you are planning on freebirthing at a holiday house?
How does that work? How do you know when to book? We will book it from 39-41 weeks, we will be in Perth from 36 weeks.
Isn't one of the points of homebirth/free birth that you do it at home because you feel more comfortable and relaxed at home thus facilitating the birth process? For some yes, Unfortunetly because of where we live it is not really an option for us, we would risk losing our home and having hubby go back to FIFO, we also do not have access to medical assistance should we need it regardless of how small that chance is, I feel more comfortable being able to access care. If we birthed here and something went wrong it would take a minimum of 4hrs to access any major hospital. I trust birth, I believe in my body, but I also believe in being able to access assistance when needed, to do that I need to be near said assistance. For us this is the best option, it's like putting on that seatbelt when getting in a car.

I think its a cool idea. If I was to have a home birth it wouldn't actually be at home either. I don't like my house its a renovation nightmare. I would love to go on a beautiful holiday and be able to just chill Out with my family after the birth somewhere relaxing

I've just spoken to MR hospital and they have told me I just need to transfer my care to one of the local GP's during my last month So I will probably have an appointment with them during that month to handover all my details should we transfer and we will be set
