Question How long did it take you to conceive?

I've read up on how long it should take before you get worried (eg. get to a doc)...

But I was wondering how long it has actually taken real life peeps to concieve? Whether they be TTC (ovulation charting etc) or just not trying to not get pregnant?

I only ask because my partner and i have been very naughty for the last year - no pill, no condom, withdrawal - and I was kind of hoping that we may have had an accident by now!

We are going to start TRYING in the next month or so

I came off the pill and fell pregnant right away. Never even had a period.
My GP said it would take a while so we were a tad surprised how instant it was

Have fun when you start trying hehe

With ds I was on the pill (big shock but awesome lol)

With Dd we were planning to ttc in 4months time as we were waiting till after we got married. We only used the withdrawal method and well let's just say I got married 14 weeks preggy lol.

Next bub dh and I are excited about actually trying to conceive (you know going through the ok it's time let's have another baby process)

my DF was told he was never going to be able to have kids, so we didnt use protection and just went about things, then i started feeling sick...

i was pregnant with ds1 (total suprise obviously!!)

ds2 took 18 months of TTC, charting, temping, etc whilst still breastfeeding my ds1.

this bub took 6 months of TTC, but i didnt temp, i just used opks.

    good luck,

OP - my DH and I were really slack about using protection and relied on withdrawal for several years with no pregnancy, but the minute we started actually trying (ie, DTD on the days my iphone app said I was probably ovulating ), we got lucky. You might just have unknowingly avoided your O days up until now - I figure that's what happened with us

We never tried to prevent pregnancy and got together at 18. By 23 with no pregnancy we began to "actively" TTC with same result. 25 we sought medical help and were diagnosed with "unexplained Infertility". Kept trying and kept trying and kept saving, and finally, just after my 30th birthday when we had started to try to accept that we may never actually become parents, we finally got that BFP.

So, 12 years all up.. 12 exhausting, dream shattering emotionally draining years.

I hope you get your BFP as soon as you start trying

3 years for the first conception then 5 years of unsuccessful TTC. Diagnosed unexplained infertility. Next relationship 9 months, 3 months, 2 months.

All up it took about ten years of TTC across 2 different partners to get a live baby as I had 3 losses.

It took us about 1 to 3 months of not not trying for each of our 2.
