Unhappy Grieving grandparents she never knew!

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong spot mods, feel free to move it!

My DD is nearly 7 and she has recently started getting very upset about her grandparents (my parents) at bedtime. They died years ago and although she didn't know them, I think she is upset about the fact that they're not here and that she'll never get to know them etc., and some kids at school have been talking about death (relatives dying etc.) so I think she's feeling a bit scared about death, me and her dad or loved ones dying, too. I've tried to re-assure her about my parents, how they're still with us and they're looking down on her keeping her safe, and that they're the brightest star, that she is a part of them and she can carry them with her in her heart etc., but she's been beside herself the past 2 nights, and she told me that when it gets close to bed time she gets a sore tummy because she's so sad . I'm not really sure what else I can do for her! Today I got some photos out of nanna and pop, and wrote a 'things about nanna, things about pop' list for her to read and keep in her room. I feel so helpless

Absolutely no advice for you but huge, huge for you and Em

I guess it's normal that she will go through that 'grieving' process as she realises that her reality isn't the same as everyone elses, but I'd say most kids will go through that at one stage or another...just makes it so hard when you're so 'helpless' in the situation too
