Just spread tomato paste and grated cheese over pastry and roll into a log and slice into 1 cm rounds , place on baking tray and bake.

You can add other finely chopped vegies like capsicum , sundried tomatoes or bacon if you like.

You can also make cheese and vegemite scrolls, or Nutella scrolls the same way.
they are a great idea, you could put finely chopped mushrooms, tomato paste and cheese. mmm great idea

    loving this thread btw

Love the thread... My basic basic but filling meal is one that DP used in his mining camp when he didn't go up for dinner...

    1 can baked beans
    1 packet deb mashed potato...

Mix together and it's really yummy.

Immensely filling dish for four people that makes two dinners {or one dinner and about two/three night's worth of side dishes} is six large potatoes, peeled, chopped and boiled. Drain, then mash with 2 tablespoons of butter and a splash of milk to prevent glugginess. Cook four rashers of bacon and one whole onion {both chopped into small bits}. When cooked, mix into potato mash well, pop over the stove for a minute to disperse the flavour throughout the mash and sprinkle cheese over the top.

I made this last night, all three of us had heaped bowls, had heaped bowls again tonight, hubby had it for lunch and we have enough left over for a lunch tomorrow. Hubby proclaimed it a miracle of food engineering
Wouldt've known all we had left in the cupboard was a bag of spuds, an onion, a few bacon bits and some cheese

    Cheap snack food
    Home brand Coles cake mix
Whatever fruit you have ( apple, banana whatever)
Make up cake mix and add fruit. Put into mini muffin tins- cost around $2 for a whole heap of muffins and if 24 muffins are too many you can freeze them.
